A glimpse into the life of Jeremiah Brown, a 2026 football commit for the SDSU Aztecs football team.
On Monday, April 14, the SDSU Aztecs received a commitment from a 2026 linebacker who lives just an hour and a half away from San Diego.
Jeremiah Brown, a junior at San Jacinto High School in San Jacinto, California, had not been to San Diego until his unofficial visit with the Aztecs. A young kid who is more used to and familiar with forest and mountain-like scenery loved the vibe of what San Diego has to offer.
The Aztecs got a great commitment early on with Brown just before his senior season, where he expects to do great things.
Jeremiah Brown is a very family-oriented person who truly cares for his family and for his friends.
He wants to be a leader, not a follower, in a world where there are more followers than leaders. Brown wants to lead by example at SDSU.

What set San Diego State apart from the other schools you visited?
“I visited Fresno, and it was a great place, and the campus was really nice. I got to watch the football team practice, and the coaches were very nice and welcoming. I just didn’t get that gut special feeling in my stomach. When I visited NAU, I loved the scenery, the forest, and the green in the area. I loved the dome and everything about it.”
“When I came to visit SDSU and met the coaches in the athletic hall, I didn’t get the excitement in their faces when greeting me at the other places. I wanted to be treated like family, not just a player, and the coaches treated me like family and not just an athlete. I didn’t want to make a decision without my family seeing the campus and meeting the coaches. I told them how much I loved it at SDSU and how I thought I wanted to commit. I brought them on Saturday, April 12, and they loved it and told me to commit and to do it. I wanted to be close to home because I want my family and all the people who support me and will always be there for me, I want them to be able to support me and see me able to ball out and share this moment with them too. Not just me.”
How did you feel about SDSU Head Coach Sean Lewis?
“When I first met him, he was amazing. He was super pumped up. He brought me in for a hug and told me that I love what you are doing. Coach Leiws treated me like his family and not just another player or part of the team. My biggest thing is that I wanted to feel like family; I didn’t want to feel like just another player. My coaches throughout my entire life have been like that- treating me like family. That energy made me know this is where I wanted to be.”
Who is Jeremiah Brown? What can Aztec fans be excited about, both as a player and as a person?
“Me, the football player- I am very energetic and love to run around, hit people, and be very excited. The best thing about football is that when you see a big hit, it picks up the energy. I play with reckless abandon and with a fun energy. I, as Jeremiah, am a very goofy and caring type of person. I’m loving, caring, and very funny. I like to have fun and be very open. I love giving back to the youth and to the community through the church. My teammates see me with offers, and I like to guide them and be there for them. Like my siblings, I want to be there for them, guide them, and help them.”

What is something you enjoy that not many people know about you?
“I like to write music, and I love to make songs. I like to sing/ Not a lot of people know this about me. Only people who are close to me know this. I like to read books and write poems. I make and write things that mean something to me. I also like anime a lot. Naruto was my first introduction to anime, which is like the big show. I also watch Seven Deadly Sins and Attack on Titan, the variety like anime.”
What could Sean Lewis and the coaches do to develop you into an NFL-level player?
“I sat in meetings and everything when I went to San Diego. The coaches broke down everything for me on film and showed me clips and what I’m supposed to be doing during certain plays and the calls on the field. He showed what everyone is supposed to be doing, where they go, and their alignment. With my skill set and my speed, and how I have seen them develop other players. I feel that I fit well and could develop well with them.”
What are your goals heading into your senior high school year?
“Football-wise, I want to make 130 tackles on the season. I know it sounds crazy, but that’s the goal. Now I want to have a lot of sacks, I have 30 for my goal, but that might seem a little crazy. That is the type of mentality I love to have. I wanna gain weight and be 205 by season and 215 before I leave (to SDSU). I want to gain some weight and maintain some of my speed. I want to improve my skills and be a leader, and be there for my team. The team goal is to go all the way to State and win in December, and then be on San Diego State’s campus in January for early enrollment. I am really excited and fired up. A lot of these guys I have played with since I was a kid want to end it with a ring and ball out.”
