Latrell Davis erupts for 57 points in Swish League Showcase

SAN DIEGO — Latrell Davis has been waiting for his moment at San Diego State.
On Sunday, at Lincoln High School, he made sure nobody missed it.
Davis erupted for 57 points to lead That Goods Life to a 113-88 victory over Crunch Time, delivering one of the more stunning individual performances of the summer in his new hometown.
Davis shot 13 of 26 from three-point range and 5 of 11 from two-point range, going 8 of 9 from the free throw line to finish with a 43-efficiency rating. He added 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals in the 25-point win.
The performance was a glimpse of what Aztec fans will be watching this coming season.

Davis spent two seasons at San Jose State before transferring to San Diego State, sitting out last year as a redshirt. In his sophomore season with the Spartans, he averaged 11.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game while shooting 38.3 percent from three-point range — numbers that earned him a transfer to a program with significantly higher expectations.
Born and raised in England before moving to the United States for his final two years of high school, Davis also represented Great Britain at the 2022 and 2023 FIBA U18 European Championships. The path to Montezuma Mesa has been anything but conventional. Sunday was a reminder of why Brian Dutcher and the coaching staff will rely on him this upcoming season.
