San Diego Padres affiliates were 2-1 on Wednesday.

Here is a recap of the day’s events.

El Paso Chihuahuas (Lost 7-3 to Sacramento River Cats)

Oscar Mercado: (2-for-4), HR, 2B, 2 RBI

Graham Pauley: (1-for-3), BB

Nate Mondou: (2-for-3), BB, RBI

Jay Groome: 2 IP, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K

It was a pitcher’s duel early before the River Cats struck first in the bottom of the third on a Heliot Ramos double off of Lake Bachar. Adrian Morejon was the only Chihuahua besides Groome to have a clean outing. El Paso took a brief lead in the top of the fourth after Mercado’s two-run homer. But a fielding error by Pauley led to Sacramento tying the game in the following half inning. Sacramento’s Ramos continued his big day with a go-ahead homer in the seventh. Things broke open in the eighth when Sacramento scored four times, securing the win. Only three of the seven runs allowed were earned.

San Antonio Missions (Won 6-2 over Northwest Arkansas Naturals)

Marcos Castañon: (3-for-4), 2 2B, RBI

Connor Hollis: (3-for-4), RBI, 2 SB

Brandon Valenzuela: (1-for-3), 2B, RBI

Jared Kollar: 5 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K

Kollar tossed five solid innings to give the Missions a good start. The Missions broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth inning and never looked back. Connor Hollis singled home a run to make it 2-1. Castañon doubled home another run to bring the lead to two. Dillan Shrum homered for the Naturals to cut the San Antonio lead to one in the seventh. The Missions nickeled and dimed their way to more runs late and a four-run victory.

Fort Wayne TinCaps: Postponed (Rain)

Lake Elsinore Storm (Won 8-5 over the Modesto Nuts)

Dillon Head: (3-for-6), 2B, SB

Jay Beshears: (2-for-3), 2 BB, 2 R

Ryan Wilson: (4-for-4), BB, 2 RBI

Jose Luis Reyes: 3 IP, 2 ER, 0 BB, 4 K

Braedon Karpathios broke a 2-2 tie with an RBI double in the third. Ryan Wilson added on with an RBI single. In one of the weirder developments you will ever see, both teams had a run score due to a balk. Despite a late charge by Modesto, Lake Elsinore was able to stave them off. Xavier Ruiz notched his first save of the season. Head (No. 6 prospect in the organization) doubled and stole a base.

San Antonio- Adam Mazur (1-0, 1.80 ERA)
