The heat will be intense for this match and Morgan is expected to receive limited playing time in her final goodbye to the pitch. Morgan has created a legacy that will be almost impossible to top with her contribution to the growth of women’s soccer and sports in general.
The veteran striker became an instant fan-favorite in San Diego and will receive plenty of love on Sunday from the home faithful. Morgan has done a lot to help out the local community and always takes the time to try and interact with local fans after the games.
The Wave have been missing a lethal threat in the attack this season and the USWNT star will be missed for the remainder of the season. Morgan was having a lackluster campaign, but her leadership and presence is always very valuable to any team she is on.
Tickets to this game were selling fast and it will be interesting to see if there will be a sellout at the Mission Valley Fortress for Morgan’s last hurrah.
