The San Diego Wave will face Orlando Pride at Inter & Co. Stadium this Saturday, March 29, for a game in the 2025 NWSL regular season. San Diego is undefeated to start the new season, with a draw against Angel City and a home victory against Utah Royals.
The Wave defeated Utah 3-2 at Snapdragon Stadium in what was a thrilling match at the Mission Valley Fortress. Maria Sanchez, Adriana Leon, and Gia Corley each scored a goal in this victory.
The new-look Wave offense has been generating plenty of scoring opportunities so far. Delphine Cascarino also managed to get an assist in what has been a busy start to her season.
Gia Corley already has two goals and an assist in her first two NWSL games in what has been an explosive start to her season. Adriana Leon was brought in to score goals, and the Canadian international did just that in her fist start with San Diego.

The new head coach, Jonas Eidevall, seems to be taking a very aggressive and offensive approach to this team. This is especially showcased by the midfield, which is comprised of Kenza Dali and Savannah McCaskill.
There are still several concerns of San Diego’s backline without superstar defender Naomi Girma. However, the Wave just signed center-back Daniela Arias to try and reinforce that component of the team.
At 30 years old, Arias brings in plenty of experience, representing Colombia and recently being named the best defender in the women’s Brazlian league with Corinthians.
Kennedy Wesley and Kristen McNabb have been the starting centre-backs for San Diego as Arias will be fighting for playing time.
Orlando has had a tremendous start to the new campaign with two victories, eight goals scored, and none conceded. The Floridian team are coming off a 2-0 away win against Gotham and started the season with an impressive 6-0 win against Chicago.
The legendary Marta is still a key piece to this team, with a goal and an assist to start the season. Barbra Banda also had an amazing start with two goals and an assist in the massive victory against Chicago.
The veteran center-back pairing of Kylie Strom and Rafaelle has also been rigid thus far and will be a tough task in this match.
Orlando has had the hottest start in the NWSL this season in what has the potential to be a tough test for San Diego.
