Three out of four minor league affiliates played on Wednesday, yet only one came out victorious.

Here is a quick recap of the day’s action.

El Paso Chihuahuas (8-3 on the season)

El Paso was the only minor league affiliate to not play.

They will begin a six-game road trip against the Sugar Land Skeeters tomorrow. Brett Kennedy will toe the rubber in game one.

San Antonio Missions (Lost 8-2 to Roughriders) (6-8 on the season)

Osvaldo Hernandez: 3 IP, 8 H, 6 ER, 2 BB, 2 K (Loss)

Mason Fox: 2 IP, H, ER, 2 K

CJ Abrams: 3-4, RBI, BB, K

Jose Azocar: 2-5, R, RBI, 2B,

Michael Curry: 2-4, R, 2B, K

It was a rough night for starting pitcher Hernandez as Frisco, who already scored three runs off him in the first three innings, ambushed him for another three runs to begin the fourth inning. Frisco scored one more run off Fox and tagged Tom Cosgrove for one more in the sixth inning.

San Antonio was able to tie the game in the second inning when Azocar followed Curry’s two-out double with a single to center field. The Missions proceeded to put zeroes on the board until Abrams’ RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Fort Wayne TinCaps (Won 6-3 over Lugnuts) (6-7 on the season)

Gabe Mosser: 5 IP, 3 H, ER, BB, 4 K (Win)

Luis Almanzar: 2-4, R, 2 RBI, K

Tirso Ornelas: 2-4, R, RBI, 2B

Reinaldo Ilarraza: 3-4, R, 2B, SB

Grant Little: 1-3, R, RBI, BB, SB

After starting pitcher, Edgar Martinez exited after feeling discomfort warming up for the second inning, the TinCaps bullpen buckled down to hold the line. Reliever Gabe Mosser, a 27th-round pick in the 2018 MLB Draft, pitched five innings of relief to keep the Lugnuts in check.

RBI singles from Ornelas and Little tied the game at two runs apiece in the fourth inning. Lancaster briefly held the lead after scoring in the fifth inning, but a three-run sixth inning for Fort Wayne was enough to take and keep the lead.

Lake Elsinore Storm (Lost 8-2 to Quakes) (7-7 on the season)

Dwayne Matos: 3.2 IP, 7 H, 5 R (0 ER), 2 BB, K (Loss)

Ramon Perez: 2.1 IP, 5 H, 2 R, ER, K

Jason Reynolds: 3 IP, H, R, BB, 3 K

Jarryd Dale: 1-3, HR, R, RBI

Robert Hassel III: 1-4, R

After winning their first five games of the season, Lake Elsinore has hit a cold streak as they have now lost seven of their last nine games.

The Storm had nobody to blame but themselves today. Four errors committed by the defense resulted in six unearned runs. A majority of those came in the fourth inning when three throwing errors saw six runs cross the plate off Matos and Perez.

The lone offense came from a sixth-inning solo home run from Dale and a passed ball that allowed Hassel to score from third base.
