Padres minor league affiliates went 0-3 on Monday. Here is our daily recap of games played.

El Paso Chihuahuas – No Game

El Paso opens a six-game home series against Sugar Land on Tuesday. No starter has been announced as of publication.

San Antonio Missions – No Game

The Missions hit the road for a six-game set against the Wichita Wind Surge. Ian Koenig is likely to start for the Missions, though no starter has been announced.

Fort Wayne TinCaps – No Game

Fort Wayne returns home to the friendly confines of Parkview Field to host the Lake County Captains. The teams split their previous matchup in April, each winning three games. Matthew Watson makes his second appearance (first start) against the Captains, having made his debut against them back in April.

Lake Elsinore Storm – No Game

The Storm is away from The Diamond this week, making the drive up to Fresno to face the Grizzlies for the first time this season. Winyer Chourio will take the ball for the Storm in the series opener.

ACL Padres (Lost 4-3 vs ACL Rangers) (10-11 on the season)

Dawson Willis – 1-for-4, Home Run

Cardell Thibodeaux – 1-for-2, Single, Walk

Luis Maracara – 2 IP, 3 H, 3 R (2 ER), 1 BB, 5 K

Padres starter Luis Maracara allowed two home runs in two innings in his start against the ACL Rangers. The 18-year old right-hander has allowed fly balls at a higher rate than he did last season, but this comes as a result of throwing much more competitive offerings. Maracara has succeeded at limiting walks so far this season, issuing only two against 14 strikeouts in 7.2 innings. Dalvi Nunez threw three scoreless innings in long relief, picking up four strikeouts. Nunez did not allow a hit in his appearance and has now pitched back-to-back scoreless outings. Dariel Polanco struck out two in two scoreless innings, and Yoesmerli Beltre gave up a run on two hits in one inning. Jordan Valenzuela struck out three in one inning of work.

Dawson Willis kept hitting, as he added to his numbers with a solo home run in the loss. Willis has been a bright spot in the Padres’ opening stretch. The UDFA signee out of the University of Oklahoma is slashing .346/.433/.731 with a 1.164 OPS this season, and could force his way to Single-A if he keeps hitting like this for a prolonged stretch. Luis De Leon went 1-for-4 with a single and an RBI, reaching base twice. Cardell Thibodeaux reached base twice in three plate appearances, hitting a single and drawing a walk. Fabian Alcantara singled in his only at-bat of the game, and Moises Valdez reached base twice in the loss.

DSL Padres Gold (Lost 18-9 vs DSL LAD Mega) (0-1 on the season)

Abraham Bastidas – 2-for-3, Grand Slam

Yorvin Morla – 3-for-4, Double, Two RBI

Michel Cervantes – 2 IP, 1 H, 3 R, 5 BB, 3 K

The defending DSL Cup champions, the DSL Padres Gold, opened their season with a high-scoring home loss. Abraham Bastidas had the Padres’ biggest swing of the game, launching a second-inning grand slam. Bastidas also stole two bases in the game, accounting for two of the team’s nine stolen bases. The Padres Gold went a whopping 9-for-9 in the stolen base department. Yorvin Morla posted three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs. Timothy Mogen, one of the Padres’ top signees this past international signing period, drew two walks and stole two bases in his professional debut. Eddson Martinez doubled and scored two runs out of the leadoff spot.

Starting pitcher Michel Cervantes, in his pro debut, walked five batters in two innings. The right-hander from Veracruz, Mexico, struck out three, allowing three runs on one hit. Albert Perez, in his second season with the Padres Gold, walked four in his season debut, picking up just two outs. Miguel Alvarez allowed two runs in 1.1 innings, and left-hander Emmanuel Polo took the loss. Polo gave up four runs (three earned) while recording just two outs. Guillermo Romero pitched 1.1 scoreless innings in relief, and Jose Blanco allowed eight runs in three innings. The run total allowed by Blanco matched the amount of earned runs he gave up in 22.1 innings with the Padres Gold in 2025.

I'd like this amount to

DSL Padres Brown (Lost 9-4 vs DSL Reds) (0-1 on the season)

Osmy Osorio – 2-for-3, Home Run, Triple, Three RBI

Sebastian Maldonado – 1-for-3, RBI Single, Run Scored

Yoandres Valdiviezo – 2 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 3 BB, 1 K

Padres starter Yoandres Valdiviezo allowed three home runs in a loss to the DSL Reds. Valdiviezo, who was making his professional debut, struck out one in two innings, walking three. The right-hander also threw a wild pitch in two-plus innings, allowing five earned runs when all was said and done. Ariel Dilone was unable to escape the third inning, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks. Raudi Perez made his professional debut, pitching 2.1 scoreless innings in relief. Perez walked three batters while striking out one. Yohn Melendez allowed one run on three hits and a walk in one inning.

Osmy Osorio was the heartbeat of the Padres Brown’s offense, as he went 2-for-3 with seven total bases. Sebastian Maldonado opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning, scoring Ronnier Heras. Osorio then hit a two-run triple to score Maldonado and Yonaiker Hernandez. Osorio then launched his first career home run in the fourth inning. Eliander Primera and Ronnier Heras drew the team’s lone walks of the game. Endy Rios went 0-for-3 at the plate but contributed with an outfield assist defensively. Also on defense, Maldonado threw out three of six runners attempting stolen bases.
