Here is our daily recap of the games played. 

 

El Paso Chihuahuas – Off Day

El Paso plays host to the Albuquerque Isotopes (Rockies Triple-A) this week at home. Jackson Wolf is projected to start the series opener. 

San Antonio Missions – Off Day

The Missions are on the road this week, facing off against the Amarillo Sod Poodles (Diamondbacks Double-A). Jamie HItt is likely to start the series opener, though the team has not yet confirmed a starter. 

Fort Wayne TinCaps – Off Day

The TinCaps make the trip to Great Lakes for a six-game series against the Loons (Dodgers High-A) on enemy ground. Kannon Kemp is the projected starter for the series opener. 

Lake Elsinore Storm – Off Day

The Storm make their final trip to the Northern Division this week, taking on Stockton (Athletics Single-A) in a six-game set. Jesus A. Castro gets the ball in the series opener. 

ACL Padres – No Game, Season Concluded

The ACL Padres’ season ended, but the Padres announced that 20 of 21 draftees plus nine undrafted free agents were assigned to the ACL Bridge League. The list is highlighted by first-round pick Coleman Borthwick, who has an outside chance at making his professional debut late this season.

Dayquer Alfonzo – 1-for-3, Double, Two RBI

Michel Cervantes – 4 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 2 K
Right-hander Michel Cervantes threw four innings of one-run baseball in the Padres Gold’s 6-4 loss. Cervantes struck out two while walking three, giving up four base hits. Wilfred Paca allowed three runs in 1.1 innings to take the loss, striking out just one of eight batters faced. Jose Perez allowed one run in 1.2 innings, and Albieris Polanco allowed a run on three hits in his lone inning of work. Dayquer Alfonzo drove in two runs in the game, going 1-for-3 with a double. Angel Mejia also doubled in the game, driving in a run. Cristian Benavides drove in one run with an RBI single, reaching base two times in the game. Endy Rios hit two singles and scored a run in the game. 

DSL Padres Brown (Won 11-10 vs DSL Athletics) (9-30 on the season)

Jeanfranco Fernandez – 2-for-3, Double, Two RBI

Sebastian Maldonado – 1-for-2, Double, RBI, Two Walks

Yoandres Valdiviezo – 2.2 IP, 3 H, 4 R (2 ER), 3 BB, 4 K

The Padres Brown outhit the DSL Athletics en route to a high-scoring win. Starter Yoandres Valdiviezo pitched 2.2 innings, allowing four runs on three hits and three walks. The left-hander struck out four batters, departing at one point due to the re-entry rule. Valentin Perez allowed three runs in two innings. Aneury Sosa walked four in two-thirds of an inning, with three inherited runners scoring against Angel Gamarra. Gamarra earned the win in the game, picking up the final four outs. The Padres Brown scored nine runs in the first two innings. Ronnier Heras opened the scoring with an RBI single. Sebastian Maldonado doubled to score two runs, scoring on a double by Jeanfranco Fernandez. Jhostin Fuentes singled in a run, scoring on a balk. Fuentes and Yonnaiker Hernandez also singled in runs in the second inning. Jeanfranco Fernandez drove in the team’s 10th run with an RBI single. After the Athletics tied the game, Luis Rodriguez scored the go-ahead run when Gabriel Teran reached base on a fielding error.
