A question-and-answer interview with 2026 signee Malik White, who intends to help anchor the SDSU Aztecs offensive line.
Malik White is an opposing figure, standing 6-foot-4 and 310 lbs.
The offensive lineman is a junior at Rancho Cucamonga High School, and his potential is off the charts.
In order to secure a successful program, head coach Sean Lewis is well aware that a stout offensive line is required. White will not be on campus until the 2027 season, but his arrival is perceived as a great thing for the Aztecs. This promising young lineman already shows the talent, but SDSU knows they can extract more from him.
White is an excellent student who holds a 3.7 GPA and speaks about the importance of academics.
The Aztecs will be getting a complete student-athlete with a promising upside to his game.
Kalan.Frfr (Kalen Montgomery) is Malik White’s cousin. The former SDSU defensive back is from Compton, California, and is a burgeoning rapper in the music industry. He has produced five albums since 2018 and has worked with such superstars as Kendrick Lamar, Tyga, Mozzy, Dom Kennedy, Ty Dolla Sign, Blxst, and Steve Aoki.
Since his childhood, White has had ties to SDSU football. Some of his earliest memories are at the Q and tailgating before an Aztec game.
It comes as no surprise that the junior committed early to SDSU.
Let’s learn more about Malik White.
Why did you choose SDSU? What was it about the school?
“I chose SDSU for a lot of reasons. Relations with the coaching staff, proximity to home, and SDSU’s interest in me were all important factors.”
How big was Coach Lewis in making your decision?
“Coach Lewis was definitely big in my commitment; his authenticity and humbleness really stood out.”
There’s a photo of you when you were younger with Monte Montezuma going around social media. Tell me about it. Did you attend many Aztec games when you were young?
“We definitely have been going to SDSU games for a while. To go see my cousin Kalan Montgomery play (2014-2016). He played cornerback but mainly special teams. I really enjoyed the environment at Qualcomm Stadium, especially the tailgate activities they had set up and the Warrior Walk.”
What is your largest motivation in the game?
“My largest motivation in football is definitely internal. I push myself to improve and better myself constantly.”
How important is it for you to bond with your fellow lineman? Does that create a better unit?
“It is definitely important for me to create a bond with my teammates, especially in the O-line room. That bond and togetherness absolutely improves the group as a whole.”

What do you need to improve on most?
“The biggest thing I can improve on (to me) is my physical strength. Getting stronger and improving my numbers in the weight room.”
What do you see as your strengths in the game?
“On the field, my greatest strength is my play recognition.”
You are an excellent student. How important is education to you?
“Education is big for me. My parents have made it a priority for me at a young age, with me having at least a 3.5 GPA every semester. SDSU is also a high academic school that has my intended major as of right now- Construction Management.”
What are your goals for next year?
“My goals for this year are to achieve both first-team all-league and first-team all-CIF.”
What are your goals once you reach SDSU?
“With my team, it’s definitely to win our league and make a deep run into playoffs- whatever division that may be. Hopefully, being able to win a championship in the end will be my ultimate goal.”
Here is a video of White during his junior season
As you see, he is a force out there on the football field.
His run-blocking skills are especially seen, as White easily knocks defenders off the line of scrimmage. He also shows a remarkable ability to stick with his block, and ride said defender past the line of scrimmage. In time, he could be an effective figure on the line for the Aztecs.
His pass-blocking is also above average, as White takes obvious pride in protecting the QB. He is not afraid of contact and thrives in it.
The footwork is also exciting, as White showcases an ability to get down the line of scrimmage and take on blockers from all angles. The Aztecs secured an important player for the future.
