Padres minor league affiliates went 1-3 on Tuesday.
Here is our daily recap of games played.
El Paso Chihuahuas (Lost 13-10 in 10 innings vs Tacoma) (69-57 on the season)
Yonathan Perlaza – 4-for-6, Home Run, Three RBI
Rodolfo Duran – 2-for-5, Home Run, Two RBI

Miguel CIenfuegos – 3.1 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 1 BB, 3 K (68 pitches – 41 strikes)
In a game that can only be described as peak PCL, El Paso scored nine times in the third inning only to lose 13-10 in extra innings. Yonathan Perlaza was again at the center of the Chihuahuas’ offensive output, as the Chihuahuas’ right fielder finished with four hits, including a home run. Perlaza was one of three Chihuahuas to homer in the nine-run third inning. Rodolfo Duran launched his 12th homer of the season in the same frame. Tim Locastro went back-to-back with Duran, hitting a solo homer in the third. Tyler Wade had two base hits, driving in a run. Luis Campusano went 1-for-5 with the game-tying RBI in the eighth inning.
As is expected in a game when a game score ends 13-10, the pitching staff got knocked around. Miguel Cienfuegos started and pitched into the fourth inning, but was tagged for five runs in the second inning. Cienfuegos struck out three batters in his outing and contained the damage to the second inning, giving his team some length under the circumstances. Omar Cruz pitched 1.1 innings in relief, but dealt with some rough BABIP luck in the fifth inning as the Rainiers put up four runs. Two of three run-scoring hits against Cruz in the frame came off the bat at below 70 mph. Manuel Castro pitched 2.1 scoreless innings of relief on 31 pitches, striking out two batters. Sean Reynolds allowed one run in the eighth, but pitched a scoreless ninth to send the game to extras. Raul Brito was charged with three runs (two earned) on three hits in the tenth inning to take the loss.
San Antonio Missions (Lost 3-2 vs Frisco) (58-63 on the season)
Marcos Castanon – 2-for-4, Two-Run Single
Ryan Jackson – 1-for-3, Single, Walk, Run Scored
Miguel Mendez – 1.2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 3 K (49 pitches – 29 strikes)
Miguel Mendez lasted 1.2 innings against Frisco, pitching a laborious second inning that saw two runs score against the right-hander. Mendez continued to flash upper-echelon levels of velocity, but his command has given him some struggles at the Double-A level. Ryan Och and Andrew Moore each threw 2.2 scoreless innings, each striking out three batters. Och has struck out 13 in 11.2 innings this month to the tune of a 2.31 ERA, and Moore has fanned 13 in 9.1 innings, posting a 2.89 ERA. Ethan Routzahn got two outs in the eighth but issued a walk to Sebastian Walcott. San Antonio called on Garrett Hawkins to record the final out of the inning, but Hawkins allowed a single before Walcott stole home to give Frisco a 3-2 lead. Hawkins got out of the inning without any further damage.
The Missions needed length out of the bullpen, and Ryan Och delivered with a season-high 2.2 scoreless innings. His impressive effort makes him tonight’s @FrostBank Player of the Game! pic.twitter.com/tNo6knD0XZ

San Antonio outhit Frisco 7-4, but only managed to score two runs. Marcos Castanon had two singles in the game, driving in two runs on a fourth-inning hit against Avery Weems. Moises Gomez hit the team’s only extra-base hit with a double in the eighth inning. Ryan Jackson reached base twice in the game, scoring a run. Romeo Sanabria had a single and a walk in the game, also scoring on Castanon’s base hit.
Fort Wayne TinCaps (Lost 7-2 vs Dayton) (55-65 on the season)
Kasen Wells – 2-for-4, Two Singles, Outfield Assist
Eguy Rosario – 1-for-4, Double
Ian Koenig – 5 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 6 K (93 pitches – 61 strikes)
Right-hander Ian Koenig continues to perform strongly out of the TinCaps rotation. The California native struck out six batters in five innings of work, allowing only two runs. Koenig induced five groundouts and only one fly ball out, and has seen his ground ball rate go up as the season has progressed. Ruben Galindo pitched a scoreless sixth, but with one out in the seventh, Alexander Vargas reached base in the seventh on an error by Eguy Rosario. Walks to the next two batters chased Galindo, and CJ Widger entered with the bases loaded. Widger got out number two, but allowed a single, walk, and double to put Fort Wayne down by four. Nick Wissman pitched the eighth and ninth innings, allowing a run on two hits.
At the plate, Fort Wayne’s lineup stalled against a trio of Dragons pitchers. The ‘Caps did start the game with two on and two out in the first inning, but Rosman Verdugo struck out to end the inning. They broke through in the second, however. Kai Roberts and Jack Costello opened the inning with back-to-back singles, and Sean Barnett drew a walk. Zach Evans hit into a forceout to score a run, and Lamar King Jr grounded out to score the TinCaps’ second run of the inning. Despite a single from Kasen Wells putting two on with two outs again, Eguy Rosario grounded out to end the inning. The TinCaps did not manage another rally against Dragons pitching. Rosario had the team’s lone extra base hit with a double, and Wells’ two hits made him the only TinCap with a multi-hit game.
Lake Elsinore Storm (Won 6-5 in 10 innings vs Rancho Cucamonga) (53-68 on the season)
Dylan Grego – 2-for-5, Two-Run Triple
Justin DeCriscio – 1-for-3, RBI Single
Jaxon Dalena – 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 5 K (28 pitches – 21 strikes)
Right-hander Jaxon Dalena made his first career professional start for the Storm, pitching two innings of one-run baseball against a potent Quakes lineup. The opponent didn’t faze Dalena, as he punched out five of eight batters faced. Braian Salazar struck out three in one inning of work. Strikeouts were a theme for the Storm pitching staff, as Lake Elsinore pitchers combined to strike out 18 batters. Adam Conrad was second on the team in strikeouts in the game with four in two innings, earning his seventh win of the season after the tenth-inning rally.
Very pleased with Jaxon Dalena’s early results, especially against a tough Rancho Cucamonga lineup.

Kavares Tears opened the scoring with an RBI groundout to tie the game at one after one inning of play. Jorge Quintana broke out of a mini-slump by reaching base four times, twice on base hits. Quintana scored on a single by Justin DeCriscio in the fourth inning. Dylan Grego tripled in the sixth inning to score two runs, hitting the first triple of his career. Grego would score on a wild pitch later in the frame, scoring the Storm’s fifth run. While catcher Truitt Madonna was hitless, he was involved in a crucial pickoff play in the tenth that erased a runner off the bases. Alex McCoy pinch-hit in the tenth inning and torched a grounder to second. Second baseman Niko Perez threw home, but the throw was up the line, and Jorge Quintana came in to score the winning run.
AND GREGO WAS HIS NAME-O!!! Dylan Grego smashes a triple into right-center field to give us a two run lead!
