Padres News: Andrew Cashner to Disabled List
While the earlier news of the DFA of Jabari Blash may be the bigger headline, the Padres announced yet another roster move, as RHP Andrew Cashner will be headed to the disabled list.
Andy Green announces that Andrew Cashner will be placed on the 15-day DL, retroactive 5/9, with a right hamstring strain.

The right hander originally tweaked his hamstring in his last start on Sunday while running the basepaths. Cashner has continued to feel tightness in both hamstrings over the last week, forcing the team to move him to the disabled list, retroactive to the day after the original injury on 5/9.

Cashner was originally slated to have his next start pushed back to Saturday, if he was able to pitch, but Christian Friedrich will take his spot in the rotation on Friday night, with a yet to be determined player pitching for the Padres on Saturday. It remains to be seen how long Cashner will be out this time, but the hope is that this is just a minor injury this time around.Â
