El Paso defeated the Sugar Land Skeeters on Sunday night for their third straight victory. The Chihuahuas jumped ahead early by scoring three runs in the bottom of the second inning. Two of the runs came courtesy of Sugar Land errors, while the other came via an RBI single from first baseman Taylor Kohlwey.
Sugar Land clawed back with two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, cutting the lead to 3-2. El Paso got a run in the bottom half of the inning thanks to a solo home run from catcher Yorman Rodriguez. The Chihuahuas added on two runs in the bottom of the sixth to reach what would become the final score, 6-2.
El Paso pitchers were dominant Sunday night, striking out seven while only allowing four hits and two runs. Starter Daniel Camarena went five strong innings, allowing two runs while striking out three. The bullpen shut down the Skeeters after Camarena exited the game for four innings of scoreless ball.
El Paso will face Sugar Land once again on Monday, looking for their fourth straight victory.
