San Diego Padres affiliates went 2-2 on Thursday.

Here is a recap of the day’s events

El Paso Chihuahuas (Won 3-2) (20-22 on the season)

Pablo Reyes-(2-for-5) 2B, RBI, SB

Marcos Castanon– (1-for-3) RBI, Run, BB

Fernando Sanchez-4 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 4 K (58 pitches- 34 strikes)

Ethan Routzahn– 1 IP, 2 H, K, SAVE (19 pitches- 12 strikes)

El Paso won a close game as the pitching staff held tight after allowing two runs in the first inning. Fernando Sanchez started the game, and the 25-year-old lefty went four solid innings, only allowing two runs (one earned) in the game. It was his first career start at the Triple-A level. Sean Boyle earned the win as he threw three shutout innings for El Paso in relief of Sanchez. The 29-year-old veteran pitched well. David Morgan pitched a scoreless eighth inning, and Ethan Routzahn recorded his fourth save of the season. San Antonio only allowed five hits in the game.

Pablo Reyes led the way with the bat as he went 2-for-5 in the game. The 32-year-old veteran infielder is hitting .324 with a .982 OPS on the season. Marcos Castanon went 1-for-3 in the win, as did Victor Duarte, who batted last in the game for El Paso. Jose Miranda was 0-for-3 with a run and a walk. He owns a .757 OPS so far in the PCL. Jase Bowen went 1-for-2 in the game with a double and made a great catch in center for El Paso. Bowen is hitting .262 on the season, but has put up a .900 OPS so far on the year.

San Antonio Missions (Lost 7-0) (13-23 on the season)

Tirso Ornelas– (1-for-3) BB, K

Romeo Sanabria– (1-for-4) 2B

Ryan Jackson- (1-for-4)

Ian Koenig– 4.2 IP, 8 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 3 K (97 pitches- 62 strikes)

The tough 2026 season continues for the San Antonio Missions as they were shut out at home by Wichita. San Antonio only managed four hits in the game and walked three times in the contest. They struck out 10 times on Thursday. Tirso Ornelas went 1-for-3 in the loss and is hitting .238 in the Texas League with a .777 OPS. Romeo Sanabria doubled in the game and went 1-for4. Ethan Salas went 0-for-3 with a walk in the leadoff spot. The catcher stole a base in the game, his seventh of the season.

Ian Koenig was roughed up for five earned runs in 4 2/3 innings of work. The right-handed pitcher has a 5.23 ERA so far this season for the Missions. Harry Gustin allowed two earned runs in 2 1/3 innings of work. The lefty owns a 4.91 ERA so far in 2026. Andrew Dalquist threw two shutout innings for the Missions. The 25-year-old right-handed pitcher out of Redondo Beach needed the appearance to lessen his overall ERA on the season.

Fort Wayne TinCaps (Won 11-3) (17-19 on the season)

Zach Evans– (2-for-5) 2B, Run, 2 RBI

Lamar King Jr.- (2-for-5) Run, RBI, K

Alex McCoy– (1-for-4) HR, 2 Runs, 3 RBI, BB, K

Carson Montgomery– 5 IP, 2 H, 3 BB, 4 K (78 pitches- 51 strikes)

A five-run second inning in which the TinCaps continued to find an open hole with the bat, powered Fort Wayne to an 11-3 win. Alex McCoy slugged a 104 mph (off the bat) home run to help lead the TinCaps. McCoy was 1-for-4 in the game with his 7th blast of the season and is heating up after a slight cold spell. He still owns a .935 OPS on the season. Zach Evans doubled and drove in two RBI’s in the game. Lamar King Jr went 2-for-5 in the game and has recorded an .809 OPS so far this season. Fort Wayne recorded 11 hits in the game.

Carson Montgomery toed the rubber and looked sharp in the game. Montgomery was sitting in the mid 90s with his fastball and featured a wipeout slider. Montgomery is 2-0 this year with a 1.33 ERA and is looking fully healthy after some arm issues the past few seasons. Montgomery is 23 and will likely debut in the Texas League at some point very soon. Isiash Lowe continues to struggle with his development as he allowed two earned runs in two innings of work. Lowe owns a 6.85 ERA so far this season.

I'd like this amount to

Lake Elsinore Storm (Lost 7-4) (21-15 on the season)

Qrey Lott- (3-for-4) Run

Truitt Madonna- (1-for-2) Run, RBI, 2 BB

Ryan Wideman- (1-for-5) Run, RBI

Bryan Balzer- 4.2 IP, 9 H, 7 ER, 4 K (86 pitches- 56 strikes)

Lake Elsinore got behind early and could not catch Rancho Cucamonga in the 7-4 loss. Bryan Balzer did not have his best stuff, as he coughed up seven earned runs in 4 2/3 innings. The 21-year-old Japanese youngster is still learning how to pitch. You see glimpses of his ability, but he has yet to put it all together. Daichi Moriki threw two scoreless innings to close the game for the Storm. The 23-year old owns a 4.50 ERA so far in 2026. Brandon Langley threw two scoreless innings as well and lowered his ERA to 9.16 on the season.

Ryan Wideman went 1-for-5 out of the leadoff spot and scored a run. Qrey Lott continues to impress as the outfielder went 3-for-4 in the loss. The right-handed hitter owns a .900 OPS so far on the season in the California League. Lott scored a dramatic run on Thursday as he collided at home with the catcher to score a run. Truitt Madonna went 1-for-2 with a double, and Kerrington Cross went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two walks. Lake Elsinore was 2-for-14 with runners ins coring position as they could not get the timely hit.

Friday’s Probable pitchers-

El Paso- TBD

San Antonio- Eric Yost (0-1, 3.21 ERA)

Fort Wayne- Kash Mayfield (2-1, 1.82 ERA)

Lake Elsinore- Kruz Schoolcraft (0-1, 9.82 ERA)
