Padres Down on the Farm: July 24 (De Vries homers for Storm)
San Diego Padres affiliates went 2-3 on Wednesday.

El Paso Chihuahuas (Lost 9-5 vs Salt Lake) (40-58 on the season)
Graham Pauley – 1 for 3, Stolen Base
Eguy Rosario – 1 for 4, Home Run
Gabe Mosser – 4 IP, 10 H, 8 R, 2 BB, 3 K (88 pitches, 58 strikes)
Gabe Mosser struggled from the get-go against the Salt Lake Bees, giving up an RBI single two batters into the game. Mosser allowed a grand slam in the fourth inning on a hanging offspeed pitch that put the game out of reach, 8-3 after four innings. Jackson Wolf pitched three solid innings of relief, allowing one run on three hits and striking out four. The offense brought some bite against Bees starter Reid Detmers, with Jose Azocar and Eguy Rosario homering off the southpaw. Graham Pauley reached base three times and stole his second base of the season, and Nate Mondou showed excellent range on a pair of defensive web gems at second base.
San Antonio Missions (Won 6-2 vs Midland) (44-46 on the season)
Marcos Castanon – 1 for 4, Three-Run Home Run
Brandon Valenzuela – 1 for 5, Two RBI
Robby Snelling – 3 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 4 K (60 pitches, 32 strikes)
In his first start following the All-Star Break, Robby Snelling delivered three innings of one-run baseball, striking out four. Snelling fought through heavy base traffic, tossing 60 pitches and navigating through eight baserunners. He was struck by a comebacker in the third inning, which may have played a role in the shorter outing. Raul Brito earned the win, allowing one run in two innings of relief and striking out an astonishing six batters. The offense was led by Marcos Castanonās three-run home run, his fourth of the month. Brandon Valenzuela drove in two runs, and Robert Perez Jr hit an RBI double in the win.
Fort Wayne TinCaps (Lost 5-4 vs Dayton) (37-55 on the season)
Ethan Salas – 1 for 4, RBI Single
Romeo Sanabria – 3 for 4, Two Runs
Enmanuel Pinales – 5 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 4 BB, 4 K (80 pitches, 50 strikes)
The Fort Wayne TinCaps took an early 3-0 lead on RBI singles from Romeo Sanabria and Devin Ortiz. Sanavria ended the game with three hits, his sixth multi-hit game of July. Enmanuel Pinales started for the TinCaps and allowed five runs in five innings, with opposing batters hitting two home runs off him. Pinales threw 62.5% of his pitches for strikes but walked four batters while striking out four. Two of those walks led to runs for the Dayton Dragons. Ethan Salas brought the game within one with an opposite-field RBI single, but the comeback would not be completed despite the tying run reaching base in the ninth. Bradgely Rodriguez struck out five in two innings of relief in the loss.
Lake Elsinore Storm (Won 5-1 vs Visalia) (46-44 on the season)
Leodalis De Vries – 2 for 5, Two-Run Home Run, Double
Jose Sanabria – 1 for 4, Bases-Clearing Double
Jose Luis Reyes – 5.2 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 3 K (87 pitches, 54 strikes)
Another day, another home run for Leodalis De Vries. The Padresā No. 4 prospect hit his eighth home run of the season, a two-run blast to left field punctuating a five-run inning. Jose Sanabria (who was on base for De Vriesā homer) plated three runs on a bases-clearing double in the second. Storm starter Jose Luis Reyes brought the thunder to the mound as the right-hander pitched into the sixth inning for the second time in three starts. Reyes allowed a solo homer in the second, the lone blemish on his line, and he got seven outs apiece in the air and on the ground. Reliever Javier Chacon tossed 2.1 innings of strong relief en route to a 5-1 win.
ACL Padres (Lost 10-1 vs ACL Guardians) (23-36 on the season)
Colton Vincent – 1 for 3, Single
Abraham Parra – 1.1 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 2 K
The ACL Padres offense was stymied by a solid showing from the ACL Guardians. Colton Vincent was the lone member of the Padres to record a hit, and the team only drew one walk all game. Yendry Rojas drove in their lone run on a groundout when the game was out of reach. Abraham Parra started for the Padres and allowed four runs in 1.1 innings, getting two outs via the punchout. Braian Salazar and Kleiber Olmedo each allowed three runs in relief, with Salazar striking out four batters.
