ACL Padres (Lost 7-3 vs ACL Brewers) (23-34 on the season)

Adler Cecil – 2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 2 K
The ACL Padres lost their Monday night game by a score of 7-3. Adler Cecil got the nod and allowed two runs in two innings, striking out two and walking three. Right-hander Langston Burkett was tagged for the loss, allowing one run in 1.2 innings. Shortstop B.Y. Choi delivered two extra-base hits for the Padres, scoring on an RBI single by L.J. Jones. The former Cardinals farmhand has posted video game-like numbers at the Complex level (.434 average, 1.243 OPS), and has seen work at all four corner positions at the ACL level. Padres No. 20 prospect Lamar King Jr delivered a double of his own out of the designated hitter slot in the lineup.
DSL Padres Gold (Won 3-1 vs DSL LAD Bautista in Game 1)

In the completion of their July 9 game vs the DSL Dodgers’ LAD Bautista squad, multi-hit efforts from Gustavo Marquez and Jesmaylin Arias led the way to a Padres Gold win. Marquez notched three singles, scoring a run, while the 17-year-old Arias doubled in the game. Designated hitter Moises Valdez walked three times in the winning effort as well. On the mound, Ibrahym Jimenez went three strong innings to start, striking out three and walking two while allowing no runs. Right-hander Angel Sanchez earned the win with two innings of relief, striking out three.
Game 2: Suspended Due to Rain
The regularly scheduled game between the DSL Padres Gold and DSL LAD Bautista was suspended in the third inning due to rain. For the Padres Gold, left-hander Ronaldys Jimenez pitched two shutout innings, striking out four.
DSL Padres Brown (Lost 10-4 vs DSL Athletics) (8-25 on the season)
Isaac Ponce – 2 for 5, Three RBI
Jhojan Downer – 0 for 1, Four Walks
Johan Minaya – 4 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 3 BB, 3 K
Starter Johan Minaya struggled through his most difficult start of the season, allowing six runs across four innings of work. The 19-year old right-hander struck out three and walked three while allowing seven hits and uncorking a wild pitch. Of three relievers to appear in the game, only right-hander Leandro Solano tossed a scoreless outing, striking out one batter in one frame of work. The offense was led by Isaac Ponce, who drove in three of the team’s four runs on a two-RBI single and another late RBI single. Clay Winklaar drove in the team’s final run on a bases-loaded walk, and Jhojan Downer walked four times in the loss.
