Exciting atmosphere expected at Snapdragon Stadium for Mexico vs. Cameroon match
This Friday, June 9, Mexico national team manager Diego Cocca held a press conference before the Mexico vs. Cameroon game on Saturday, June 10.
Cocca talked about various topics, including what he thinks about the possible atmosphere at Snapdragon Stadium.
“The Atmosphere gets to be very good. There are a lot of people supporting us, like what we lived in the game against the United States. (in Phoenix) We are happy to be here like what we lived in Mazatlan. We want the people to come, feel identified with the national team, support us, and for that to repeat”, Cocca said.
There are still plenty of tickets available for the match. Still, a massive crowd is expected at Snapdragon with an electric atmosphere led by Mexico’s supporter group in the United States, Pancho Villa’s Army.
San Diego has previously hosted the Mexico national team at Qualcomm Stadium and has achieved great attendance feats. When El Tri last played in San Diego, nearly 50 thousand fans filled the former Mission Valley fortress to witness a friendly match between Mexico and Chile.
There will be events for fans prior to the game around Snapdragon Stadium, including the “AT&T Futbol Fiesta,” which will be in the Snapdragon Stadium parking lot. There will be games, sponsor booths, and autograph sessions with Mexico legends Carlos Salcido and Luis “Matador” Hernandez. Salcido will be signing autographs for fans from 4:15 p.m. PST to 5:45 p.m. PST, while Hernandez will be available for fans from 4:30 p.m. PST to 6:00 p.m. PST.
Snapdragon Stadium has already witnessed an electric atmosphere with games from the San Diego Wave and a friendly match hosted earlier in the year between Tijuana Xolos and Club America. There are set to be more high-profile games at Snapdragon Stadium this summer, with friendly matches between Manchester United and Wrexham United and San Diego Loyal and Borussia Dortmund.
There will be some notable players for both teams in this match, including the likes of Henry Martin, Diego Lainez, Karl Toko Ekambi, and Bryan Mbeumo. The game has the potential to be a very entertaining match and be filled with an amazing atmosphere at Snapdragon Stadium.
