The minor league affiliates for the SanĀ  Diego Padres went 2-2 on Thursday.

Here’s a recap of today’s action.

El Paso Chihuahuas (27-28) Lost 7-3

The Chihuahuas’ offense stagnated for a better part of the game and only got in gear in the final inning. Miguel Diaz would only go three innings and surrender four runs while Eric Yardley and Trey Wingenter gave up one and two runs respectively. El Paso got one hit until the ninth inning, but RBI by Brett Nicholas and Shane Peterson would at least prevent the Chihuahuas from getting shutout.

Brett Nicholas: 1-4, RBI, R

Shane Peterson: 1-1, 2B, 2 RBI

Nick Schulz: 1-2, 2B

Miguel Diaz: 3 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 2 K (62 pitches-40 strikes)

Trey Wingenter: 2 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K (43 pitches-24 strikes)

San Antonio Missions (33-20) Won 6-0

Logan Allen and Jason Jester combined to do something that the Padres haven’t done in their existence; throw a no-hitter. Allen tossed seven innings of scoreless ball despite walking five and Jester would slam the door on the Tulsa Drillers to complete the no-hitter. The Missions offense came through in spades as Michael Gettys, Taylor Kohlwey and Fernando Tatis Jr.each had home runs in a six-run fifth inning. Peter Van Gansen and Webster Rivas had RBI to aid in the sweep.

Lake Elsinore Storm (25-29) Lost 3-0

It was a bad night for the Storm offense as they were shut out by the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and could only muster up two hits. Pedro Avila got no help and was saddled with a loss despite pitching into the seventh inning. He struck out four batters, but walked five while allowing three runs to cross. Brad Zunica and Nate Easley were the only Storm players to have base hits.

Brad Zunica: 1-3, BB

Nate Easley: 1-3

Fort Wayne Tincaps (24-28) Won Game 1 5-3

In a seven inning game, the TinCaps were able to take care of the business they weren’t able to start yesterday. Nick Margevicius, who was slated to start yesterday, tossed five innings while allowing three runs. His bullpen was able to hold on for the lead and take Game 1 for the TinCaps. Fort Wayne took the lead in the first inning with a RBI single by Jalen Washington and a three-run bomb from Jack Suwinski. The youngest player on the team, Justin Lopez, added a home run in the sixth inning

Justin Lopez: 1-3, HR, RBI, R

Nick Margevicius: 5 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, BB, 6 K (81 pitches-57 strikes) Win

The TinCaps were rained out of Game 2 after the third inning. Mason Thompson had thrown three innings while allowing an unearned run while striking out four. They will make up the game in a doubleheader when the TinCaps visit the HotRods in Kentucky for their series on June 12-14. For now, enjoy this fun little video of the TinCaps having a dance off during the rain delay.
