Xolos’ Yasser Corona Released from Hospital
Tijuana Xolos’ defender, Yasser Corona, has made progress since his injury and has been released from the hospital.
Corona suffered a severe cervical injury when he crashed into Correcaminos’ player, Eduardo Juarez, in a Copa Corona MX match between the Xolos and Correcaminos UAT on January 31. The injury required cervical spine surgery, and it has been a steady recovering process since then.
The Mexican defender has received plenty of support since the injury from teammates, fans, and colleagues. Corona’s teammates are utilizing a commemorative jersey with #FuerzaYasser to offer him support. Before the Xolos vs Leon match on February 4, both Xolos and Leon players held up a banner with #FuerzaYasser in support of the center-back.
Club Tijuana is not the only franchise who has offered support for Corona. Recently, on Feruary 7, two different teams showed their support for the defender in different ways. The Xolos had a friendly match against the L.A. Galaxy at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. The Los Angeles team made a nice gesture towards Corona as it displayed #FuerzaYasser on the StubHub Center scoreboard.

Chiapas from the Liga MX also showed its support for Corona as they utilized jerseys with #FuerzaYasser in their match against Club America last Tuesday. Corona made 34 appearances for Chiapas and it was a nice gesture from his former team.

Yasser Corona will now resume his recovery process from his home, slowly making strides to returning to a soccer pitch. Fuerza Yasser and Fuerza Tijuas!
