Tijuana Xolos: Alejandro Guido Makes Bold Statement Ahead of Club America Game
Tijuana, Mexico
The Tijuana Xolos have a very important game this Saturday as the team will travel to Mexico City to face Club America at the historic Estadio Azteca.
The Xolos are coming off an impressive 4-1 win against Pumas UNAM at home, but will now have a tougher task away from the Estadio Caliente.
Alejandro Guido talked to EVT after the 4-1 win against Pumas UNAM and made a bold statement about the upcoming game against Las Aguilas.
Guido said, “It’s a beautiful opportunity to show the whole league that we are serious contenders for the title”. The Border City Dogs have not had an ideal season, but Guido seems to understand the importance of defeating a team like Club America, especially at the Estadio Azteca.
Los Azulcremas are currently top of the Liga MX with 16 points, while Club Tijuana is eighth with 12 points.
This game will not be easy by any means, but a win will shine the spotlight on a Xolos’ side that has stayed in the shadows for most of this season.
It is unclear if Alejandro Guido will start this game, but there could be a good chance that he does as Diego Cocca used a full starting XI against Motagua last Wednesday and there could be some fatigue within the squad. The San Diego native has been solid for Cocca off the bench, coming in to either generate a spark or try and defend a lead.
