SDSU Aztecs’ Players Era Championship Schedule Released

The 2025 NCAA basketball season can’t come any quicker. The San Diego State Aztecs are back in the gym, building chemistry and getting ready for one of the most highly anticipated seasons in Aztecs history.
Just as SDSU did last year, the Aztecs will participate in the 2025 Players Era Championship. In 2024, the Aztecs finished in third place after a massive upset win over No. 6 Houston, which propelled SDSU to another successful season.
The two opponents have been known for a few weeks, as the Aztecs are set to take on two iconic Big Ten schools, Michigan and Oregon. This matchup against Michigan will be head coach Brian Dutcher’s second-ever game coaching against his former school, and the schools’ second-ever meeting as well. Now, the times are set for the matchups.

On Monday, November 24, at Michelob ULTRA Arena Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, the Aztecs will face Michigan at 7:30 PT on TruTV. On Tuesday, the Aztecs will take on Oregon (as they did in 2024) at 8:00 on TNT. The third game will be determined by the results of the other 17 teams in the tournament.
According to the SDSU press release, “San Diego State and Michigan will meet for the second time in program history. The initial meeting was at Crisler Arena in Ann Arbor on December 4, 2021, and resulted in a 72-58 victory for the No. 24-ranked Wolverines. Matt Bradley led the Scarlet and Black with 22 points, two assists, and two steals.”
Last year’s Players Festival saw Oregon and SDSU meet for the first time since 1997. Oregon got the best of the Aztecs last year, giving them their second loss of the season. However, we all know how the Aztecs responded, with a huge win over Houston. Houston went on to play in the NCAA Championship game and almost won it all. They lost to Florida 65-63. The Cougars were three points away from being world champions, and it almost made it three straight seasons where the Aztecs have battled against the NCAA champions.
The 2025 Players Era Championship field is stacked. This is, without a doubt, the biggest early-season tournament in college hoops.
