The San Diego Wave will face the Seattle Reign at Lumen Field for a game in the 2025 NWSL regular season this Friday, August 29.
San Diego is coming off a loss at home against Racing Louisville and only have one win in their last five games.
The Wave also has just one loss in this run, but has been struggling offensively. San Diego has only scored two goals in the last five league games and need to improve on the attacking front.
Head coach Jonas Eidevall has not been hesitant to switch his lineup around this season, and it will be interesting to see his starting 11 for this game.
San Diego has been excellent defensively in this run of games, with just two goals allowed. The Wave has allowed only 19 goals this season, which is tied for the fourth-lowest in the NWSL.

Jonas Eidevall must try to find the consistency he has found in the backline with the offense.
Seattle is just three points behind San Diego in the NWSL standings and has been a very consistent team this year. The Reign are winless in their last three games, but had a four-game undefeated streak before that. This included a 2-1 win against the San Diego Wave at Snapdragon Stadium back on June 6.
Emeri Adams and Jessica Fishlock both began the last game on the bench, but have been two of the best players on the roster. Fishlock has scored four goals and has provided two assists this season from the midfield.
Adams has been a revelation for the Reign this year, leading the team with six goals scored. The 19-year-old has scored four of these goals in the last five games, really charging the offense recently.
Laura Harvey’s side is always a tough team to face for San Diego, especially away from home. Games between these two teams tend to have a certain intensity, and that is expected at Lumen Field this Friday night.
San Diego will have two consecutive home games after this road match, as it is an ideal time to get the offense going again.
