El Paso Chihuahuas – Off Day
El Paso’s Jackson Wolf was named the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week on Monday. Wolf made one start last week, tossing 7.2 innings of one-run baseball and fanning eight. More notably, Wolf pitched seven straight no-hit innings to open the game. It was Wolf’s first time earning the award.

San Antonio Missions – Off Day
Missions right-hander Victor Lizarraga was named the Texas League Pitcher of the Week after his nine strikeout performance against Amarillo. It was Lizarraga’s second time earning the award, as he last earned the award for the week of July 28, 2024.

Fort Wayne TinCaps – Off Day
Fort Wayne gets set to host the Dayton Dragons (Reds High-A affiliate) for a six-game series starting on Tuesday August 26. Ian Koenig is set to start for the TinCaps.
Lake Elsinore Storm – Off Day
The Lake Elsinore Storm host their final home series of the season, welcoming the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes to town for a six-game series.

The DSL Padres Gold advanced to the Final Round of the DSL Cup after a 5-3 win over the DSL Pirates Gold. Starting pitcher Dalvi Nunez pitched 4.2 innings of one-run baseball, striking out five batters against four walks. The right-hander had an up-and-down regular season, but stepped up big time in his first playoff action. Marco Eluscat entered in relief, allowing two runs (one earned) in 2.1 innings, striking out two.
Jose Verdugo led the lineup with three hits in the series-clinching win, hitting a double and two singles while also driving in a run. Jhojan Downer gave the Padres their first run of the game with an RBI double. Isaac Ponce hit into a forceout in the third inning, but a throwing error by Pirates infielder Johan De Los Santos allowed Jose Verdugo to score the go-ahead run. Verdugo singled in Eddson Martinez to extend the lead to 3-1 in the fourth. Eduarlin Tejeda drove in a run in the seventh on a sacrifice bunt and throwing error, and a wild pitch in the eighth scored Abraham Bastidas. Johan MInaya pitched the final two innings to record the save, securing the 2-0 championship round sweep and punching the Padres Gold’s ticket to the DSL Cup Finals.
