San Diego Padres minor league affiliates went 1-3 on Sunday to wrap up their weekly slates.

Here is our recap of games played.

El Paso Chihuahuas (Lost 6-4 vs Oklahoma City) (61-51 on the season)

Luis Campusano – 2-for-3, RBI Double

Will Wagner – 1-for-5, RBI Single

Randy Vasquez – 3 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 3 BB, 4 K (68 pitches – 40 strikes)

Randy Vasquez made his first start back at Triple-A, and the results were mixed. Vasquez allowed five runs on five hits in three innings of work, matching the run total from his last MLB start on August 2. Regardless, he struck out four and walked three, getting whiffs on six swings against and keeping his velocity consistent in the elevation of the PCL. Omar Cruz pitched two innings of relief, striking out two in a pair of scoreless frames. Kyle Hart would allow one run on a solo homer in two innings. Alek Jacob racked up three K’s in one frame, while Harold Chirino pitched a scoreless frame; for Chirino, it was his third straight scoreless appearance after a five-run blowup to end July.

Luis Campusano got the Chihuahuas on the board early with an RBI double. The man they call Campy would finish the game with two doubles, and now has 20 on the season. Tyler Wade had two htis out of the leadoff spot, doubling off Comets starter Matt Sauer and scoring a run. Trenton Brooks did not record a base hit in the game, but still managed to drive in two runs. Brooks delivered on a sacrifice fly in the fourth and an RBI groundout in the sixth inning. Clay Dungan and Nate Mondou each had one base hit in the game, scoring a run. Will Wagner had an RBI single in the seventh to bring El Paso within two. Since joining the Padres organization at the trade deadline, Wagner has hit .367 with a .990 OPS.

San Antonio Missions (Lost 5-3 in 10 innings vs Springfield) (55-53 on the season)

Jacob Campbell – 2-for-4, RBI Single

Marcos Castanon – 1-for-3, RBI Single

Enmanuel Pinales – 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K (48 pitches – 36 strikes)

Starting on four days’ rest as opposed to his usual five, Enmanuel Pinales was efficient and effective in five innings of work. The right-hander pitched one of his best outings at the Double-A level, striking out five batters and allowing only two hits. Pinales did not issue a walk in the game, throwing only 48 pitches. Jose Geraldo, Kevin Kopps, and Austin Krob each tossed a scoreless inning, maintaining a lead into the ninth.

Speaking of the lead, San Antonio took a 1-0 lead early on an RBI single from Marcos Castanon. The Missions infielder has been one of few players not affected by the team’s recent skid in their individual performance, as he has hit .379 with an 1.100 OPS in August. Jacob Campbell had an RBI single of his own in the fourth, scoring Moises Gomez. Romeo Sanabria would ground into a bases-loaded forceout to extend the lead to three in the eighth inning.

Ethan Routzahn entered in the ninth inning, but allowed two singles to open the ninth. Leonardo Bernal tee’d off on a three-run home run to tie the game at three. While Routzahn ended the inning with no further damage, the game was now even at three. Jacob Campbell made it to third with two outs, but failed to score in the ninth. Routzahn got two outs in the tenth but allowed a go-ahead double to Carlos Linarez to end his outing. Stephen Jones allowed a base hit to Chase Davis to score the inherited runner, but recorded the final out of the inning. The Missions would have three chances to tie the game, but went down 1-2-3 to end the game.

Fort Wayne TinCaps (Lost 4-2 vs South Bend) (50-57 on the season)

Brendan Durfee – 2-for-4, Two-Run Home Run

Kasen Wells – 2-for-4, Double

Luis Gutierrez – 6 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 1 BB, 5 K (83 pitches – 52 strikes)

Luis Gutierrez allowed a season-high four runs on eight hits in six innings of work against South Bend. The southpaw worked around constant base traffic, only pitching one inning without a baserunner. In his first nine starts at High-A, Gutierrez now has a 3.89 ERA in 44 innings, with 39 strikeouts along the way. Josh Mallitz struck out two in two scoreless innings.

The TinCaps offense did not have much success facing Cubs starter Yenrri Rojas, only recording three hits against him. Kasen Wells had one of those three hits with a double. The TinCaps fared better against reliever and former big leaguer Caleb Kilian, as Lamar King Jr doubled in the seventh, coming in to score on a two-run home run by Brendan Durfee. Durfee’s homer was just his third of the season. The TinCaps also rallied in the ninth inning against Kenten Egbert, as Wells and Durfee reached base with two outs. With the tying run on deck, Jack Costello grounded out to end the game.

Lake Elsinore Storm (Won 7-6 vs Rancho Cucamonga) (49-59 on the season)

Abraham Parra – 5 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 4 K (80 pitches – 48 strikes)

Lake Elsinore pulled a five-run rally in the ninth inning to steal away a win over the Quakes on Sunday. The Storm got Tanner Musgrove back on their pitching staff, as the right-hander was activated off the injured list. Musgrove threw one inning and retired all three batters he faced. Abraham Parra, who was originally slated to start, pitched five innings of three-run baseball. Parra struck out four and walked three, scattering four hits in the game. Kleiber Olmedo was tagged for three runs in 1.1 innings of relief; it was his third time allowing runs in his last four appearances. Adam Conrad ended the eighth without allowing any further damage.

Alex McCoy launched his fifth homer of the season in the fourth inning, getting the Storm on the board. Ryan Wideman drove on a run in the eighth with an RBI single. Entering the ninth, Lake Elsinore trailed 6-2, but the team would string together base runner after base runner. Jorge Quintana and Kavares Tears singled before Kale Fountain was plunked to load the bases. One out later, Kerrington Cross drove in a run on an RBI single. Dylan Grego followed up with an RBI single of his own. Carlos Rodriguez drew a bases-loaded walk to put the tying run on third. Ryan Wideman popped out for out number two, but Alex McCoy lined a single to right field to score two runs and give the Storm a 7-6 lead.
