San Diego FC announced on Tuesday that they have mutually agreed to terminate forward Milan Iloski’s loan, effective immediately.
The Escondido native will return to the Right to Dream sister club, FC Nordsjælland.
Iloski, 25, made an impact during his time in San Diego, showcasing his potential and contributing significantly to the club’s inaugural season. He was the team’s second-leading scorer, netting 10 goals in 14 matches, despite playing only 471 minutes.

The addition of Iloski on April 2 came at a crucial time when the club desperately needed help in the attacking third due to injuries. His tenure with SDFC lasted 104 days.
“We want to thank Milan for his time and contributions to San Diego FC,” SDFC Sporting Director Tyler Heaps said. “He played an important role in our early history, and we respect his desire to return to FC Nordsjælland and his decision to pursue other opportunities at this time. We wish him the best in this next stage of his career.”

Iloski did not suit up this past Saturday in San Diego’s 2-1 victory over the Chicago Fire. After the match, San Diego head coach Mikey Varas said he prioritized playing players who will be with the club for the remainder of the season.
As of right now, it is unclear why both sides could not reach a long-term agreement to stay.
San Diego (13-6-3, 42 points) has established themselves as one of the top teams in the MLS, leading the Western Conference. Losing Iloski 22 games into the season is not ideal.
The secondary transfer window will open next Thursday, July 24, and will close on August 21. San Diego will most likely be in the market for a striker to pair alongside Anders Dreyer and Hirving “Chucky” Lozano.
San Diego fans will forever remember Iloski’s four-goal performance against the Vancouver Whitecaps. He scored all of his goals against Vancouver within a 12-minute span.
