Three Padres 2025 draftees and a pair of UDFA signings have been assigned to Single-A Lake Elsinore, with the headliner being Padres 11th-rounder Truitt Madonna. Infielder Eguy Rosario makes his return to the field after sports hernia surgery, assigned to High-A Fort Wayne. Braedon Karpathios headlines a trio of TinCaps making the trip to San Antonio to join the Missions, and (mercifully for the Amarillo Sod Poodles) Ripken Reyes rejoins Triple-A El Paso.
Now, onto the games!

El Paso Chihuahuas (Lost 4-3 in 10 innings vs Sacramento) (67-53 on the season)
Luis Campusano – 2-for-4, Home Run
Tyler Wade – 1-for-5, Home Run
Logan Gillaspie – 4 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 2 K (88 pitches – 52 strikes)
El Paso rode three homers to a ninth-inning lead, but closer Alek Jacob allowed a run in both the ninth and tenth to snap the Chihuahuas’ six-game win streak. Tyler Wade led off the game with his first homer of the season, It was Wade’s hardest-hit ball of the season, at 102.6 mph, and his first barrel off a sinker all season. Luis Campusano homered with two outs, also in the first. Nate Mondou went back-to-back with Campusano for a Chihuahuas 3-0 lead after half an inning.
Can’t really ask for a much better start to a game. T-Wade with a leadoff homer.

Logan Gillaspie allowed two runs in the bottom of the first, as with one out and the bases loaded, Brett Wisely hit a sac fly to score Wade Meckler. Jesus Rodriguez singled in a run for the River Cats, but Gillaspie held the lead by getting Sam Huff on a grounder to short. Gillaspie’s day ended after four innings and 88 pitches, a strongly serviceable outing. Kyle Hart worked around trouble in the fifth to throw two scoreless in relief, fanning one. Francis Pena and Manuel Castro worked scoreless innings to hand the ball to Alek Jacob for the ninth. Jacob allowed a game-tying double to Luis Matos, knotting the score at three. After the Chihuahuas failed to score Tim Locastro from second in the tenth, Jacob loaded the bases with no outs on two walks. While he struck out Thomas Gavello, Oslevis Basabe hit a sweeper off the end of the bat to right field. Tirso Ornelas made the catch for the second out, but his throw home was not in time as Brett Wisely tagged up to score the winning run.

Lake Elsinore Storm (Won 9-5 vs Stockton) (52-63 on the season)
Truitt Madonna – 2-for-5, Double, RBI
Kale Fountain – 1-for-4, Home Run
Braian Salazar – 3 IP, 4 H, 3 R (1 ER), 1 BB, 5 K (66 pitches – 44 strikes)
Lake Elsinore welcomed a posse of new Padres, as the team saw four players make their professional debuts in a winning effort. Truitt Madonna was solid behind the plate while going 2-for-5 with an RBI in his first at-bat. Kale Fountain launched his second homer with Lake Elsinore. Jorge Quintana had two hits and a walk, scoring two runs. Carlos Rodriguez was pushed to the DH spot with Madonna catching, and he did some designated hitting, clearing the bases in the first inning with a double. Ryan Wideman and Kavares Tears finished with identical stat lines, going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Alex McCoy had a 1-for-3 day with an RBI in just another good day at the office.
On the mound, Braian Salazar held down the fort as the starter, striking out five in three innings of work. Salazar allowed four hits and worked around an error in the third, limiting the damage by Stockton to three in three frames. Landry Jurecka took over in the fourth, and while he allowed a run on a sac fly, he pitched two frames to earn the win. Clay Edmondson made his pro debut, and the submarine-throwing right-hander worked two shutout innings with five groundball outs. Jordan Valenzuela walked four in 1.2 innings, allowing a run in the ninth. Bernard Jose entered with two down and two on, and while he walked the first batter he faced, he struck out Jesus Superlano with the bases loaded to secure both his fifth save of the season and a Storm win.
DSL Padres Gold (Won 10-7 vs DSL CLE Mendoza) (39-17 on the season)
Isaac Ponce – 1-for-3, Home Run, Three RBI
Eduarlin Tejeda – 2-for-4, Double, Two RBI
Marco Eluscat – 3 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 BB, 3 K
The Padres Gold’s recent offensive presence continued to make itself known, as the team won 10-7. Isaac Ponce homered and drove in three runs in the game, leading the Padres Gold in RBI. Eduarlin Tejeda had a double in a multi-hit effort, driving in two runs. Santiago Contreras reached base in all four of his plate appearances, walking twice. Jhoan De La Cruz was one of four Padres with two walks in the game.
Marco Eluscat pitched three innings of three-run baseball. He walked and struck out three batters, allowing one homer. Albert Perez earned the win with 1.1 scoreless innings in relief. Edwyn Hernandez and Jose Blanco also threw scoreless innings in the game, with Josias Figuereo closing out the game with an inning of one-run baseball.
DSL Padres Brown (Won 11-3 vs DSL Red Sox Red) (20-35 on the season)
Jose Bericoto – 3-for-4, Double, Triple, Three RBI
Endy Rios – 3-for-4, Two Runs
Carlos Alvarez – 4 IP, 1 H, 1 R (0 ER), 3 BB, 4 K
Carlos Alvarez had one of his best starts of the season, striking out four batters in four innings. Alvarez did not allow an earned run, with the only run that scored against him being unearned. Alvarez’s effort was much needed for him and the team, and gives him a strong note to end his season. Wilfred Paca allowed two runs in 1.1 innings, and Ariel Dilone recorded his first save of the season in five-out fashion. Endy Rios and Jose Bericoto each had three hits in the game, with Bericoto driving in three runs on a pair of extra-base hits. Fielding errors and wild pitches contributed to five of the Padres’ 11 runs on the day. Andres Garza had an RBI single, and Clay Winklaar drew a bases-loaded walk.
