San Diego Padres affiliates went 5-1 on Saturday.

Here is a recap of the day’s events.

El Paso Chihuahuas (Won 9-5 over Sacramento) (20-30 on the season)

Brett Sullivan– (2-for-4) 3 RBI, Run

Graham Pauley– (2-for-4) 2 HR, 3 RBI, 3 Runs,

Tirso Ornelas– (1-for-4) 2 RBI

Adam Mazur– 6 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 8 K (80 pitches- 55 strikes)

El Paso got a quality start from Adam Mazur, who recorded his first win of the year for the Chihuahuas. Mazur went six innings, allowing four earned runs on five hits. The right-handed pitcher struck out eight in his 80-pitch outing. Nick Hernandez, Lagan Gillaspie, and Austin Davis relieved him and held the River Cats in check.

Outfielder Graham Pauley slugged two homers in the win and is hitting to a .955 OPS-clip in El Paso. The left-handed hitter is versatile and will surely earn more playing time with the Padres this season. Tirso Ornelas continues to show progression with his swing and went 1-for-4 in the game. Brett Sullivan knocked in three runs and went 2-for-4 for El Paso.

San Antonio Missions (Won 4-2 over Wichita) (22-20 on the season)

Robbie Tenerowicz– (1-for-3) HR, 2 Runs, 2 RBI, K

Brandon Valenzuela-(2-for-4) RBI

Marcos Castanon– (1-for-3) BB, K

Omar Cruz– 3 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K (59 pitches- 36 strikes)

The Missions pitching staff was solid on Saturday night as four pitchers combined for the 4-2 win over the Wind Surge. Former top left-handed pitching Omar Cruz started the game and went three innings for the Missions. Cruz only allowed one run on three hits. Bobby Milacki and Jason Blanchard threw five total innings, only allowing a run. Josh Roberson picked up the save by pitching a scoreless ninth inning.

Robbie Tenerowicz homered and drove in a pair of runs in the win. Brandon Valenzuela went 2-for-4 with the bat and continues to show signs of being a decent catching prospect moving forward. Valenzuela is highly regarded for his defense, but the bat has taken some time to progress.

Fort Wayne TinCaps (Won 4-3 over Lansing in Game 1) (20-23 on the season)

Lucas Dunn– (4-for-4) HR, 2 2B, 2 Runs, 2 RBI

Kai Murphy– (2-for-4) RBI, BB, SB, K

Jay Beshears– (2-for-3) 2B, BB

Henry Baez-1.2 IP, 1 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, K

In Game 1 of a doubleheader, the TinCaps pulled off the win 4-3 over the Lugnuts. Lucas Dunn led the team with a 4-for-4 night at the plate with his second home run of the year. Dunn drove in two runs and scored twice in the ga. Kaiai Murphy and Jay Bershears each recorded two hits in the win. Beshears has not skipped a beat since his promotion to Fort Wayne and owns a .906 OPS for the TinCaps.

Henry Baez started the game and allowed two runs in 1.2 innings of work. Ruben Galindo relived him and earned the win by not allowing a run to score in 1.2 inches of work.

Game 2 (Won 7-1 over Lansing) (21-23 on the season)

Tyler Robertson-(2-for-3) Run, RBI, 2 SB

Homer Bush Jr.- (2-for-4) 2B, Run, SB

Ethan Salas– (1-for-4) 2 RBI

Dylan Lesko– 5 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 6 K (85 pitches- 50 strikes)

The TinCaps completed the sweep behind the arm of Dylan Lesko. The right-handed pitcher was solid in going five innings for the Padres and allowing one earned run on two hits. He struck out six in the game. Bradgley Rodriguez recorded the last three outs in the seven-inning game for the TinCaps.

Tyler Robertson led the team with the bat, going 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Homer Bush Jr. doubled and scored a run in a 2-for-4 night at the plate. Ethan Salas knocked in two, and Jay Beshears went 1-for-2 with a walk.

I'd like this amount to

Lake Elsinore Storm (Lost 12-3 to San Jose) (20-22 on the season)

Alain Camou– (1-for-4)

Wyatt Hoffman– (1-for-3) BB

Jose Sanabria– (1-for-3) 2 RBI

Isaiah Lowe– 2.2 IP, 7 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 5 K (73 pitches- 48 strikes)

The Storm lost big to San Jose on Saturday night, as Isaiah Lowe simply did not have his best stuff. The power pitcher struck out five of the six batters he recorded outs on but allowed five earned runs and seven hits in the game. That put Lake Elsinore behind early, and the bats were not up for the task. Javier Chacon was also knocked around as he allowed six earned runs in one inning of work.

A total of three hits and six walks in the game were not nearly enough to overcome the early deficit. Leodalis De Vries did not play in the game, which was disappointing for the Lake Elsinore crowd on a Saturday night. The Padres are being very cautious with their 17-year-old prized prospect.

ACL Padres (Won 9-5 over ACL Brewers) (11-6 on the season)

Kashon Conliffe– (1-for-3) 2 Runs, SB, K

Spence Coffman– (1-for-4) Run

Carlos Rodriguez– (2-for-3) 3 Runs, BB, K

Ian Koenig-2 IP, 1 H, 2 BB, K

The ACL Padres recorded nine runs on just four hits in a win over the Brewers on Saturday. The team walked seven times in the game and made the most out of their opportunities with the bats despite going 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position. Carlos Rodriguez went 2-for-3 and scored three runs for the Padres in the win. The 21-year-old left-handed hitting catcher out of Venezuela is a prospect to monitor moving forward. Spence Coffman went 1-for-4 on the day, and Kason Conliffe scored two runs and stole a base. Joshua Mears was 0-for-3 in the game with three strikeouts.

Ian Koenig started the game and went the first two innings without allowing a run to score. Yerry Landinez relieved him and allowed four earned runs in 1.2 innings of work. Manuel Castro threw 2.1 innings of scoreless baseball, and Francis Pena earned his second save of the season by recording the last six outs of the game.
