Down on the Farm: June 3 (Tatis begins rehab assignment in Amarillo)
Only the Amarillo Sod Poodles and the DSL Padres played today.
With El Paso, Lake Elsinore, and Fort Wayne off, the two remaining teams went 0-2 today.
Here is a quick recap of today’s action.
El Paso Chihuahuas (36-21 on the season)
The Chihuahuas were off today as they travel to Iowa to face the Cubs.
Amarillo Sod Poodles Lost 8-5 (28-27 on the season)
Fernando Tatis, Jr. began his long-awaited rehab assignment today for Amarillo as they took on the Frisco Roughriders. It was a back-and-forth affair for the first three innings as Frisco and Amarillo took turns taking the lead. Starter Kyle Lloyd was hit hard in five innings, allowing six runs on ten hits, including three home runs. Tatis scored the first run of the game for the Soddies as, after a walk and a stolen base, he scored on Ivan Castillo‘s ground-rule double.
Tatis had this to say to EVT after the game.
Tatis Jr. when asked about what advice he gives guys around him:
āJust talking to them about consistency. Never back down, this game is going to be tough on them. Small tips to different players who play different games. Just trying to help each one in their own wayā @EVT_News

Owen Miller hit a solo home run in the top of the third inning to temporarily tie the game, but it was the last run the Sod Poodles scored. In his final at-bat, Tatis legged out an infield single to lead off the inning, but Amarillo couldn’t bring him around to score.
Lead off single for Tatis!
