San Antonio, Texas-

The Missions and Hooksā€™ series finale was scoreless through the first five innings before some late-game theatrics gave San Antonio the ultimate advantage.

With the help of a strong performance from their rotation, the Missions defeated the Hooks 3-1 on Sunday evening at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium.Ā

San Diego Padresā€™ No.9 prospect Austin Krob got the start on the mound.

Krob earned four strikeouts across six innings while allowing zero runs on four hits. Krob battled it out against Houston Astrosā€™ No.16 prospect, Michael Knorr, who allowed zero runs and two hits. Knorr earned six strikeouts in five innings.Ā

In the sixth inning, Missionsā€™ second baseman Michael De La Cruz stole third base before a throwing error from Hooksā€™ catcher Colin Price allowed both De La Cruz and Cole Cummings to come home, giving San Antonio a late 2-0 lead.Ā

Corpus Christi responded in the following inning with an RBI single from first baseman Jordan Brewer to get the Hooks on the board,Ā

San Antonio added to its lead with a sacrifice fly to right center field from first baseman Robbie Tenerowicz, allowing Cummings to score and bringing the Missionsā€™ lead back to two.Ā

With one last chance to try and tie the game in the top of the ninth, the Hooksā€™ offense went 0-for-3 against San Antonio reliever Josh Roberson, sealing the win for the Missions.

This is San Antonio’s second series win of the season, and the squad will look to improve as they head to Wichita for a six-game road series.Ā

Game one against the Wind Surge is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at Riverfront Stadium.
