Xolos Femenil Look For First Win In Clausura 2018 Against Potent Club America Team at Estadio Caliente
This Monday (7:00 P.M. PST), the Xolos women’s team will host Club America at the Estadio Caliente for a match in Week 5 of the Liga MX Femenil.
Xolos Femenil is still searching for their first win this season as the team only has one point from the first four games.
Club Tijuana is more recently coming from a slim 1-0 loss to Pachuca away from home. Some of the younger players on the team like Layzha Garcia, Valentina Oviedo, and Ana Jimenez did play in this game and had solid performances against one of the better teams in the league.
The border city team has only scored one goal in their last three Liga MX Femenil games and will now be facing one of the better teams in the league.
Club America was one of the four playoff teams in the Liga MX Femenil Apertura 2017 and look to be a title contender again this season.
Las Aguilas have three wins in four games this season and are coming off a huge 7-1 win against Cruz Azul. The Mexico City team is currently the second-best offensive team in the league with 15 goals so far. Club America does have one of the best coaches in the Liga MX Femenil in Leonardo Cuellar. The 64-year-old manager coached the Mexico women’s national team from 1998-2016 and also had a successful playing career with Pumas UNAM and the Mexico national team. Cuellar also has ties to San Diego as he played with the San Diego Sockers from 1979-1981.
Las Azulcremas have a very experienced and talented squad with players like Cecilia Santiago, Edna Santamaria, and Lucero Cuevas.
This game should prove to be another very tough match for Xolos Femenil and it is unlikely that the team will get their first win on Monday. Head coach Andrea Rodebaugh looks to be giving the younger players on the squad some playing time and will probably do the same in this match.
My prediction for the game is a 2-1 loss for Xolos in what should be an entertaining clash.
