Xolos Femenil 2018 Apertura: Club Tijuana Ladies Seek Vital Win Against Veracruz At Home
Game: Xolos Femenil vs Veracruz Femenil
When: Monday, Sept. 24, 2018
Where: Estadio Caliente, Mexico
Time: 7:00 P.M. PST
TV: Fox Sports Mexico
The Tijuana Xolos women’s team will play Veracruz at the Estadio Caliente in a match in Week 11 of the Liga MX Femenil 2018 Apertura.
The playoffs seem like a distant dream for the Club Tijuana ladies at this point, who are currently eighth place in Group 1 of the Liga MX Femenil with just eight points.
The border city club is eight points away from a playoff spot and six-game winless streak, coming off a rough 4-1 loss to Pumas UNAM away from home. The defense has been a serious concern all season long with several silly mistakes that have led to goals from the rival teams and defeats.
The offense has also been lacking recently with a strong reliance on striker Inglis Hernandez, who has four goals this season. Xolos Femenil has not been able to win a game since July 30 and will be seeking a victory in front of the home crowd to remain competitive in the league.
Veracruz is also not having a great season, currently seventh in Group 1 of the Liga MX Femenil with nine points. However, Las Jarochas are undefeated in their last two games with a draw against Puebla and a win against Cruz Azul and have been looking better recently.
Veracruz has some talent on its roster with players like Tijuana native Noemi Granados, but is a team that can be fragile defensively with 20 goals allowed this season.
The synthetic grass of the Estadio Caliente should present a problem for Las Tiburonas Rojas as Club Tijuana should be able to win this game.
EVT predicts a 1-0 win for Xolos Femenil in what is going to be a very important clash for both teams, who need the points.
