San Diego State Aztecs and Arizona Wildcats will meet in Phoenix, Arizona, as part of a four-team showcase.
According to Jon Rothstein, Brian Dutcher’s squad is reportedly agreeing on a matchup against Tommy Lloyd and the Wildcats for next season.
The agreement is not yet official, but Rothstein mentioned “multiple sources” on the subject.
The contest is slated to be part of a showcase featuring four teams. Colorado and Stanford will battle it out in a doubleheader at Footprint Center, home of the Suns.
This will take place on December 20, just ahead of winter break and conference play.
Rothstein is a college basketball insider for CBS Sports. He has SDSU and Arizona in his top-30 teams for next season.
San Diego State is awaiting the decision from guard Miles Byrd. Byrd is currently in Chicago for the NBA Draft combine and has yet to decide whether he will go pro or return to the Aztecs. If he does return to the Aztecs, that only strengthens the team and their rank.
With Byrd, Magoon Gwath, and Reese Waters returning, SDSU will be highly regarded as one of the top teams in the country.
