There were a total of six men in action on Sunday throughout the globe.
Here is a recap of the day’s events.
Australian Baseball League
Todd Van Steensel– 1 IP, 1 BB, Save
Newly signed, minor league free agent and native Australian Todd Van Steensel earned his eighth save of the season on Sunday. His 1.29 ERA is solid, even for the ABL. He will be a factor in the upper minor league level in 2019 for the Padres with an outside chance to earn a promotion to the big leagues eventually. An excellent pickup by the Friars.
Jarryd Dale– (0-4) 2 BB, 2 Runs, 2 K
Another native of Australia is this young shortstop. He is currently hitting .182 on the season but has picked it up with the bat in recent games. Dale has played second base mainly in the last week or so. He has also been moved to the top of the order which has helped with his hitting production.
Michael Gettys– (0-3) 3 K
Gettys is hitting .296 on the year but struck out all three at-bats on Sunday. He now has 31 strikeouts in 98 at-bats in Australia. He has also recorded a .988 OPS and hit six homers while driving in 23 runs.

Franchy Cordero– (0-3) BB, 2 K
Cordero has been batting cleanup for the Leones on most nights. He has been able to stay healthy which bodes well for his 2019 season. Franchy could be very productive in 2019 for the Padres.
