The San Diego Padres confirmed three more international signings on Thursday and Friday, laying the groundwork for what appears to be a deep international signing class. 

The Padres organization welcomed three new players into their organization, as they signed shortstop Timothy Mogen from Curacao to a $600,000 bonus.

Also joining the organization are Cuban right-hander Jordan Perez and Venezuelan right-hander Joel Duarte. The Padres organization has since confirmed the signing of Mogen, as well as the previously reported signings of Diego Serna and Joniel Hernandez. For more on those signings, click here. 

Mogen is the headliner of the trio, as he signed for the largest bonus. Born in Curacao, the 17-year-old Mogen came in as Baseball America’s 76th-ranked international prospect. Mogen has been praised by evaluators for being a high-IQ ballplayer with plus speed. His hitting ability has drawn intrigue from scouts, who give it some projectability at the professional level. Already standing at 6-foot-4, Mogen has shown a knack for making good contact, and the ceiling with his power has room to develop as he adds muscle and grows into his body.

Jordan Perez and Juan Duarte, while signing for less money, are equally interesting as prospects. Starting with Duarte, the 17-year-old is fairly new to pitching, having converted from shortstop. However, his strong arm is on full display, as he has been shown to touch 97-98 mph on his fastball in exhibitions. Duarte’s mechanics are still fairly raw, featuring a long windup that is somewhat reminiscent of former Padre signee Ronald Bolanos, but with time and development, Duarte’s ceiling could be one that allows him to start long-term.

Perez is a more polished pitching prospect by comparison, while not having the blistering velocity that Duarte features. Perez currently possesses a fastball in the 88-91 mph range with what is referred to as a plus slider. The slider has at times been referred to as a curveball, but without game film or numbers publicly available, it is likely the pitch has yet to be differentiated properly or sits on the edge of the slider/curve line. Evaluators and scouts are encouraged by Perez’s ability to throw strikes consistently, with BeisbolFR’s Francys Romero referring to Perez as a “strike-throwing machine”.

Venezuelan right-hander pitcher Joel Duarte (17) is another dark horse from the 2025–2026 international class.

His fastball keeps climbing and is already sitting at 97–98 mph.

The Padres have also been reported to have signed Venezuelan catcher Jhonaiker Leon, shortstop Osmy Osorio, and Panamanian left-hander Joel Gonzalez, according to the SDUT’s Jeff Sanders, though these signings have yet to be confirmed by the organization. The minor league transaction log from MLB.com also has the Padres signing pitchers Jeferson Ogando, Edward Bonifacio, and Rickelby Ramos, infielder Antoni Duran, and outfielders Rafael Moran and Ricardo De La Paz. These signings have also not been confirmed by the Padres organization.
