Padres EVT Podcast: Episode 39 with Hudson Belinsky of Baseball America
The 2017 MLB Draft is a couple of weeks away, and the Padres are sitting pretty with the third overall selection.
In a further effort to get a little more information about who the Padres could potentially select, we bring back Hudson Belinsky of Baseball America.
Hudson joined us last year on our show after the Padres draft and he gave us a great breakdown on Cal Quantrill, Eric Lauer, Hudson Potts, Buddy Reed, Reggie Lawson, and Mason Thompson. All six are progressing in the system and it is an exciting time to be a Friars’ fan.
It is impossible to know who the Padres will select with their first pick, but we talk about the usual suspects. Hunter Greene, Mackenzie Gore, and Kyle Wright seem to be the favorites for the Padres, but there is also a chance they select Royce Lewis or Brendan McKay.
Hudson gives a detailed breakdown on Gore and Greene, whom the Padres are most likely to be selecting. He also talks to us about Lewis, who is an intriguing selection if the team wants to go that route with the third pick.
Hudson has seen many of these draft pick in person and talked to them. His knowledge is valuable.
We wish to thank him for coming on so close to the draft. He is really busy this time of the year and we were privileged to pick his brain a bit.
We will return with another show this week. Stay on the lookout for that. And always, if you have any questions, comments or concerns, please let us know.
Go Padres!
