Padres EVT Podcast: Episode 38 with Mark Grant
A new record for us here at EVT, as we bring you our third podcast of the week.
For our latest show, we bring in Mark Grant of the San Diego Padres.
He is an icon in the San Diego community, and represents the team very well.
Mud joins us on the road from Washington D.C., as the Padres are in the midst of a six-game road trip.
We talk with Mud about the state of the team. The young Padres are playing horrible right now, and we ask Mud about the psyche in clubhouse and if the young players are learning from their errors. This game will humble you in a second and the young pups on the Padres roster are learning this first hand.
Dinelson Lamet just made his major league debut, and we asked Mud what he witnessed firsthand from this young man.
The recent combination of Brad Hand and Brandon Maurer has been utilized in closing duties. We talk about the duo and if this will work long-term.
Andy Green seems like the perfect manager for this young squad. We discuss the manager and find out of Mark thinks he is progressing at his position.
If you have watched any of the Padres games on Fox Sports, then you have witnessed the great chemistry between Don Orsillo and Mark Grant. The two of them are a pleasure to watch no matter what the score of the game is. Unfortunately with the play of the team currently, their entertaining antics in the booth are sometimes highlights of the Fox Sports telecast. It is what it is, but we here at EVT understand that things are progressing in the correct manner.
All in all, it was a great talk with a Padres’ legend. We are very grateful to Mud for joining us and he has promised to return soon.
Like always, any questions or comments are greatly appreciated. Thank you for the listen.
