Padres Down on the Farm May 17 (Back-to-Back home runs lead Chihuahuas to victory)
Only one affiliate for the San Diego Padres played on Monday as the other three enjoyed their weekly off-day.
Only Triple-A West teams will play on Monday this regular season.
Here is a recap of Monday’s action.
El Paso Chihuahuas (Won 9-3 over Isotopes) (8-3 on the season)
Daniel Camarena: 5 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, BB, K (Win)
Jordan Guerrero: 2 IP, H, 2 K
Ben Ruta: 1-4, HR, R, 3 RBI
Matt Baten: 1-4, HR, R, RBI
Taylor Kohlwey: 2-3, 2B, R, 4 RBI
The El Paso Chihuahuas didn’t skip a beat against the Albuquerque Isotopes, defeating them once again for their fifth straight win against the Isotopes and sixth straight overall.
The Isotopes took an early 2-0 after back-to-back homer runs against Camarena in the top of the second inning. El Paso quickly tied the game at two in the bottom half of the inning and proceeded to take the lead for good on Kohlwey’s sacrifice fly in the fourth inning.
Ruta and Batten followed the sacrifice by taking Isotopes starter Jose Mujica deep in back-to-back plate appearances to put the game on ice.
Ben Ruta and Matt Batten going back-to-back in the 4th to break the game wide open!
