Padres Down on the Farm: June 25 (Chihuahuas, Storm walk-off/Espinoza pitches well for FW)
Two of the San Diego Padres’ affiliates won on walk-off hits on Friday.
Here is a recap of the day’s events.

San Antonio Missions (Lost 6-5) (23-23 on the season)
CJ Abrams- 1-4, 1 RBI

Carlos Belen– 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
The San Antonio Missions lost on a walk-off to the Frisco RoughRiders 6-5. No one on the Missions put their team on their back like Kivlehan, but San Antonio efficiently scored five runs on six hits. Kyle Overstreet was the only player for San Antonio to get multiple hits. They battled back by scoring three runs in the seventh and eighth innings but lost on an Anderson Tejeda home run. Reiss Knehr struggled in his start for San Antonio, allowing five runs in just under five innings of work.
Fort Wayne TinCaps (Lost 10-5) (21-24 on the season)
Tirso Ornelas– 0-0, 1 K; left game in the first inning
Kelvin Melean– 2-4, 1 RBI, 1 R, 1 BB
Anderson Espinoza– 3 IP, 2 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 4 K
Sam Williams– 1 IP, 3 ER, 3 H, 1 K
The Fort Wayne TinCaps lost 10-5 to the South Bend Cubs after a five-run seventh inning for the Cubs put the game out of reach. Fort Wayne made four errors which led to five of the ten runs being unearned. Anderson Espinoza pitched three solid innings while allowing just one hit and no walks. He did, however, allow two unearned runs in the first inning. After taking a 4-2 lead in the top of the fourth inning, Sam Williams allowed three runs in the bottom half of the inning. The Cubs never let Fort Wayne back in the game.
Lake Elsinore Storm (Won 9-8) (23-23 on the season)
Robert Hassell III- 2-5, 2 RBI, 1 K
Brandon Valenzuela– 0-4, 1 BB
Nick Thwaits– 5 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K
Keegan Collett– .1 IP, 3 H 4 R, 3 ER, 1 K, 2 BB
Like the Chihuahuas, the Lake Elsinore Storm also won on a walk-off. Euribiel Angeles‘ walk-off single in the ninth inning lifted the Storm to a 9-8 win. Angeles added two other hits for a three-hit night. Angeles should not have walked the game off, however, as Keegan Collett allowed four runs, three earned, in the top of the ninth to allow the Modesto Nuts to tie the game.
