Padres minor league affiliates went 0-2 in regular season action to open the week.

Jesus Lopez allowed five runs in the first inning, and the game was 9-0 Rangers after two innings, as the ACL Padres lost 15-9. Jimmy Reyes and Ruben Salinas each allowed four runs in their respective outings, while both Elvis Reyes and Darlin Mendez allowed one run in their time on the mound. Only Jordan Valenzuela pitched scoreless baseball, tossing two innings and striking out three.
The Padres’ offense worked hard in a comeback attempt. Yoiber Ocopio finished with three hits, including a home run. Jose Sanabria finished with three hits as well, driving in three runs in the game. Jesmaylin Arias hit two doubles and drove in two runs. Kale Fountain had a single that scored two runs, and is now hitting .262 with a .750 OPS this season. Fountain also stole his 12th base of the season, while Luis De Leon stole his 12th as well.

The DSL Padres Gold’s regularly scheduled game was suspended in the seventh inning due to rain and lightning. Dalvi Nunez had thrown 3.2 innings of two-run baseball in the game, striking out two and walking one. Eddson Martinez had the team’s only RBI of the game with a first-inning RBI single. Eduarlin Tejeda scored a run, reaching base twice in the game. Fabian Alcantara and Moises Valdez each had a stolen base as well.
DSL Padres Brown (Lost 9-2 vs DSL Royals Vendura) (14-11 on the season)

The Padres Brown scored two runs in the first two innings, but allowed nine unanswered runs. Darian Castillo drove in the first run in the first inning, and Dayquer Alfonzo scored Tom Guerrero on an RBI double in the second inning. Sebastian Pena hit two singles and scored a run in the game. Oliver Franco threw 3.2 innings in his start, striking out five batters. Despite the five strikeouts, he allowed four runs (all unearned) in his outing. Cristian Navarro allowed three runs in 2.1 innings of work, striking out two batters. Wilkins Matos allowed two runs (one earned) in one inning of relief, striking out one.
