Padres minor league affiliates went 0-3 on Monday.

El Paso Chihuahuas – Off Day

El Paso starts its final series before the All-Star Break on Tuesday, this time playing on the road in Oklahoma City. Matt Waldron will start for El Paso, facing Oklahoma City’s Charlie Barnes

San Antonio Missions – Off Day

The Missions are back on the road after a two-week homestand, traveling to Midland to face Leo De Vries and the RockHounds. The Missions have yet to name a starter, while Midland sends 2025 first-rounder Jamie Arnold to the hill. San Antonio last faced Arnold on May 8 at home, tagging him for five runs on 12 hits in 3.2 innings. 

Fort Wayne TinCaps – Off Day

Fort Wayne plays their final series before the All-Star break on the road, taking on the West MIchigan Whitecaps. Matthew Watson starts for Fort Wayne against a TBD starter. 

In other TinCaps news, left-hander CJ Widger was released on Sunday. The left-hander pitched to a 6.95 ERA, 6.22 FIP, 22.7% strikeout rate, and 18.2% walk rate in 22 innings for the TinCaps. We wish CJ all the best in his future endeavors. 

Lake Elsinore Storm – Off Day

The Storm, along with their fellow Padres affiliates, are on the road this week against the upstart Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. Jesus A. Castro takes the mound for the Storm, with the Quakes sending Angels No. 23 prospect Ubaldo Soto to the mound. 

ACL Padres (Lost 4-3 vs ACL Cubs) (26-21 on the season)

Colton Vincent – 3-for-4, Three Singles, Two Runs Scored

Jack Mathey – 1-for-2, Two-RBI Single

Erick Batista – 3.2 IP, 3 H, 3 R (2 ER), 4 BB, 4 K 

The Padres and Cubs went into the ninth tied at three, but the Cubs took advantage of a lack of command from right-hander Dalvi Nunez to score the go-ahead run. Before that, Erick Batista started for the Padres, pitching 3.2 innings of three-run baseball. Batista walked four batters and struck out four as well, allowing just three hits. Batista picked up five outs on fly balls, while he recorded just one groundout. Joseph Herrera threw 3.1 scoreless innings, striking out three. The 5-foot-8 left-hander picked up four of seven outs in play on the ground, allowing just one hit. Dalvi Nunez pitched the final two innings, allowing the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly. Nunez walked three while striking out two. Colton Vincent recorded three base hits and was responsible for scoring two of the Padres’ three runs. Jhoan De La Cruz had a single in three at-bats, and Jack Mathey drove in two runs on a two-run single.

The Padres Gold’s bullpen allowed nine runs, including a four-spot in the eighth inning, to drop a second straight game. Michel Cervantes pitched four innings, allowing two runs on two hits. The right-hander struck out three while walking three. Aneurys Sosa allowed three runs in two-thirds of an inning, and Jose Perez allowed two runs on five hits in 1.1 innings. Raymel Burciaga took the loss, as he allowed two runs in one-plus innings. Albieris Polanco allowed two runs of his own in two innings. At the dish, Joniel Hernandez was one of three Padres Gold batters with two hits. Hernandez tripled and drove in a run. Yorvin Morla had one of four Padres doubles, driving in two runs of his own. Angel Mejia doubled and drove in two runs, scoring two runs in the game as well. Timothy Mogen doubled and drew two walks, scoring two runs. 

DSL Padres Brown (Lost 9-5 vs DSL Orioles Black) (5-20 on the season)

Jeanfranco Fernandez – 3-for-4, Three Singles, Run Scored

Pedro Silva – 2-for-3, Two Singles, RBI

Yoandres Valdiviezo – 3.2 IP, 5 H, 3 R (2 ER), 2 BB, 2 K

The Padres Brown saw a 4-2 game get away late, losing 9-5. Jeanfranco Fernandez had three singles, scoring one run. Fernandez continues to show good bat-to-ball skills in recent weeks. Pedro Silva had two singles, driving in a run. Sebastian Nadales had a hit and a walk, scoring a run. Luis Rodriguez drove in a pair of runs on a sac fly and a groundout. Yoandres Valdiviezo allowed three runs (two earned) in 3.2 innings. The southpaw struck out two while walking two, picking up five ground ball outs. Right-hander Jesus Heredia took the loss, allowing five runs in 1.2 innings. Luis Morales allowed one run in two-thirds of an inning, walking two.
