Xolos Femenil Host Toluca In Week 3 Of Liga MX Femenil Clausura 2018
Xolos Femenil will host Toluca at the Estadio Caliente for a match in Week 3 of the Liga MX Femenil Clausura 2018 this Monday (7:00 P.M. PST).
The game will be between two teams that have had very different starts in the Liga MX women’s league this year.
The border city team has not won this season, with just one point out of two games played. Xolos Femenil tied their first game of the tournament 2-2 against Monarcas Morelia and are coming from a 3-0 loss to Pumas UNAM.
Toluca has four points from the first two games of the season coming from a 1-1 game against Cruz Azul. Las Diablas had a surprising 2-1 win versus Club America in Week 1 of the Clausura 2018 and look like a solid team in this Liga MX Femenil season.
Toluca is led by 15-year-old forward Maria Mauleon, who has a goal this season and scored 10 last season. 22-year-old forward Zaira Miranda has been one of Toluca’s best players in these first two games with a goal in each game.
Xolos Feminil’s biggest problem has been the defense that has allowed five goals, the most by any team in Group 1. This could also be because of manager Andrea Rodebaugh’s offensive style of play more than the performances by the defense itself. Whatever the result may be at the Estadio Caliente this Monday, more than a couple of goals are expected.
This is a crucial game for the Aztec Canines women’s team because of how competitive the Liga MX Femenil can prove to be.
Xolos Femenil must really take advantage of these home games at the Estadio Caliente, no matter who the opponent may be. But both teams should have an exciting match on display as they are both chasing Club America and Veracruz, who are at the top of Group 1 with six points each.
