Friar Faithful Podcast: MLB.com’s Padres’ Top 30 List
On this week’s episode of the Friar Faithful Podcast, Deegs gives his thoughts on the recently released MLB.com’s Top 30 prospects list for the San Diego Padres.
The Padres have seven prospects in the overall Top 100, tying Tampa Bay for the most in baseball. MacKenzie Gore, as expected, leads this list for the Friars, with Luis Urias and Luis Patiño rounding out the top three. Recently drafted C.J. Abrams and Xavier Edwards round out a surprising, yet talented, top five for San Diego.
There were some prospects who fell in the new rankings, such as Hudson Potts and Tirso Ornelas. Both have struggled this season and have spent time in the Arizona Rookie League as well. Michel Baez, Buddy Reed, and Blake Hunt are all prospects whose ranking were lowered from the previous list.
Two of the Padres’ recent international signings found themselves on the new list despite being only 16 years old.
Give the podcast a listen for more information on each of these prospects.
