Down on the Farm: Winter League Roundup- October 25
The San Diego Padres had nine players in action on Wednesday throughout the globe.
The Peoria Javelinas lost 6-3 and are now 7-6 on the season.
Tatis and Cordero did play in the Caribbean, as each continues their growth in the game.
Josh Naylor and Luis Urias had the day off, but each should return to action on Thursday.
ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE
T.J. Weir got into some game action on Wednesday and threw a scoreless inning while allowing a single hit.
Franmil Reyes has not played a lot this fall season, and his timing has been off. He went 1-4 on Wednesday with two strikeouts and is hitting .130 on the year so far. The slugging outfielder has excellent power-potential and could have a breakout year in 2018.
WINTER LEAGUE
Franchy Cordero went 2-4 with a run and two RBI with a strikeout. He has continued to hit well in the D.R. and is certainly ready for major league action. The left-handed-hitting outfielder is hitting .333 so far on the year.
Fernando Tatis Jr. went 0-4 on Wednesday with a K, in a rare off day at the plate. He is still hitting .333 on the year.
Luis Torrens went 0-5 on Wednesday in his Venezuelan Winter League game. He is down to .255 on the year, but is getting plenty of playing time.
Diego Goris was 1-3 on Wednesday with a run and two strikeouts. The third baseman is at .286 on the year so far.
Alberth Martinez had a productive night, going 1-3 with a homer, a run, two RBI, and a walk. The outfielder is at .277 early in his winter league season.
Eric Yardley threw a scoreless inning once again and has yet to allow a run in his first seven appearances. His perfect ERA of 0.00 is impressive at any level.
Trevor Frank continues to get knocked around as he allowed two runs on two hits without getting an out on Wednesday.
