Jabari Blash- OF, Triple-A, El Paso Chihuahuas

2-2, 2 BB, 4 RBI
I am going to have to be honest here. I have been trying to avoid writing about Jabari Blash as much as possible. To me he just isn’t a major league-caliber talent, and he’s proven that plenty of times. With that being said, he is currently tearing apart Triple-A pitching over the last week. Over the last 10 days with the Chihuahuas, Blash has slashed .500/.667/.1000 with two home runs and 13 runs batted in. Even more important, Blash has not struck out in 16 at bats in the last 10 days. I am still not sold on Blash, given the hitter’s paradise he is playing in, but he’s definitely looking impressive.

Christian Bethancourt- RHP, Triple-A, El Paso Chihuahuas

1.2 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
It’s been a rough season for Bethancourt to this point. After struggling in the big leagues, he has struggled so far at Triple-A. This appearance wasn’t perfect by any measure, but it represents an improvement over his previous outings. He still is walking hitters, but he didn’t get hit as hard and managed three strikeouts. Here’s hoping he continues to improve as the season progresses.

Luis Urias- 2B, Double-A, San Antonio Missions

4-5, 1 R
After a somewhat quiet week or two, Luis Urias finally had another big four-hit night. He continues to impress and is now up to a .340/.430/.489 slash line on the season. It may be only a matter of time before Urias makes the jump to Triple-A if this continues.

Enyel De Los Santos- RHP, Double-A, San Antonio Missions

7 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 7 K
Enyel De Los Santos has been a bit of an enigma over the last year or two. He’s shown plenty of flashes of brilliance, but also has sometimes been maddeningly inconsistent. On Tuesday night, De Los Santos showed some brilliance, giving up only three hits and two walks in seven strong innings. Control has always been a significant issue for the big right-hander, but he had it on Tuesday night. If he can find this sort of control more often, he could re-establish himself as a future big league rotation piece.

Fernando Tatis Jr. and Hudson Potts- IF, Low-A, Fort Wayne TinCaps
3-5, 1 HR, 2 2B, 3 RBI, 2 R

The kids came out to play. A day after Hudson Potts collected four hits for the TinCaps, both he and Fernando Tatis Jr. collected three hits each, including a home run and two doubles, and both also drove in three runs and scored two runs. Both guys are getting hot as of late, and it appears both are finally making the adjustments needed to succeed at the professional level.

Logan Allen- LHP, Low-A, Fort Wayne TinCaps
6 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 6 K

Another night, another strong start for Logan Allen. While the likes of Cal Quantrill and Joey Lucchesi have gotten a lot of attention this season, Logan Allen has gone somewhat overlooked to this point. With Lucchesi slowing down a bit of late, Allen now has the lowest ERA of any Padres minor league starter at 1.80. As has been mentioned before, Allen should be up in Lake Elsinore as soon as there is a spot available, although it is kind of curious that Jesse Scholtens made the jump to Lake Elsinore earlier this week.
