San Diego Padres Affiliates were 3-1 on Wednesday. The DSL Padres were the only team to lose on the day.

Here’s a recap of the day’s action:

El Paso Chihuahuas (65-49)

The Chihuahuas had Wednesday off, but resume play on Thursday in Sacramento against the River Cats. Dillon Overton will be starting the game.

San Antonio Missions (65-50) Won 4-1

Jesse Scholtens was fantastic on Wednesday night for the Missions, throwing eight innings, allowing one earned run, and striking out six hitters, while walking none. Chris Huffman recorded the save in a clean ninth inning to seal the win. Austin Allen had a big game, with a hit, run scored, and two RBI. Another player who had a nice game was shortstop Peter Van Gansen, with two hits, an RBI, and a run scored. MatthewĀ Batten had a hit, a walk, and an RBI in the win as well. The team only managed eight hits, but their pitching was so good they came away with the win nonetheless.

Lake Elsinore StormĀ (57-59) Won 11-2

Starter Nick MargeviciusĀ had a great game on Wednesday, pitching seven strong frames while only allowing one earned run. The bullpen only allowed one run in the final two innings to preserve the victory for the Storm. Edward Olivares played exceptionally well for the team, with three hits, a walk, three RBI, and two runs scored. Luis Torrens also played a great game, adding four hits, two runs scored, and four RBI. Ruddy Giron had two hits and two runs scored with a walk, while Chris Baker also had two hits, a run scored and an RBI in the lopsided win over Visalia.

Fort Wayne TinCaps (52-61) Won 9-8

MacKenzie Gore had a pretty rough outing for the TinCaps, allowing five earned runs with only one strikeout in three innings. The bullpen only allowed one earned run in relief of Gore, and the team managed to come back and hold on for the 9-8 win. On offense, Owen Miller had a great debut for the TinCaps, with a hit, run scored, walk, and two RBI. Gabriel Arias continued his hot hitting, with two hits and two RBI along with a walk. Jalen Washington also drove in two runs with a walk and a hit, while leadoff hitter Jeisson Rosario had two hits, two runs scored, and two walks in the game. Jack Suwinski only had one hit, but walked four times in the game, scoring three runs as well. It was a strong offensive performance from the team as they picked up their pitching staff very well on Wednesday.

Tri-City Dust Devils (23-28)

The Dust Devils are in the midst of their all-star break and didnā€™t play on Wednesday. Their next game is on Thursday, with Sam Keating on the mound against the Hillsboro Hops in Gesa.

AZL Padres 1 (18-21) & 2 (20-18)

The Padres’ AZL teams didn’t play on Wednesday, but the AZL Padres 1 resume action against the AZL Diamondbacks at 7 PM PT on Thursday. The AZL Padres 2 are slated to play the AZL Royals on Thursday at 7 PM PT.

DSL Padres (30-27) Lost 8-5

JesĆŗs Gonzalez made a decent start for the team, pitching five innings while allowing three earned runs and striking out three. Errors cost the team five unearned runs that were given up by relievers, which did the team in on Wednesday. They also only managed nine hits in the contest, with Luis Paez being the only hitter with multiple base knocks in the game. He also knocked in a run, while Bryan Torres had a hit, run scored, and two RBI. Third baseman Vladimir Echavarria had a hit with two runs scored and two walks.
