Viejas Arena- San Diego, California-
The San Diego State men’s basketball team won again, extending their win streak to 20 games.
The Aztecs (20-0, 9-0 MW) now have their third 20-game winning streak in program history. The most recent was the 2013-2014 team, which finished the season 31-5.
SDSU defeated the Wyoming Cowboys (5-16, 0-9 MW) on Tuesday by the score of 72-55. The Aztecs continue to be dominant on defense as they have been all season, holding the Cowboys to 55 points and 43% from the field. San Diego State forced 11 turnovers and allowed zero fast-break points in the first half.Â
After only shooting 30% from 3-point land in the first half, the Aztecs got hot from behind the arc, ending the game 45% from there and 54% from the field.
Although finishing even with Wyoming in rebounds at 21 apiece, SDSU still dominated in a 17-point win. Malachi Flynn’s 18 points led the team.
The Aztecs were able to stay undefeated and are the only perfect team in college basketball. In a pair of consistent performances from some of the Aztecs’ top players, Matt Mitchell scored 15, and Yanni Wetzell scored 14 in the victory.
20-0. Ready to relive it already?
