This Thursday, July 24, the San Diego Wave officially announced the signing of Dudinha from Brazilian club São Paulo.
The deal was for an undisclosed transfer fee, and the contract with the player is through the 2027 NWSL season.
Dudinha is just 20 years old, but has been playing professionally in Brazil since 2022. The young forward has also represented Brazil at the U-17, U-20, and senior levels.

Dudinha has had an impressive international career since her start with the U-17 team in 2022. The former São Paulo player scored five goals in the South American U-17 tournament, leading Brazil to a championship.
In 2022, Dudinha also played for the U-20 team at the South American Championship and the 2022 U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Brazil finished third in that World Cup, where Dudinha scored two goals in two games played.

The 20-year-old forward is currently playing with Brazil’s senior squad at the 2025 Women’s Copa America. Brazil is undefeated through the group stage, and Dudinha has contributed with an assist in her team’s 6-0 win against Bolivia.
San Diego Wave Sporting Director and General Manager Camille Ashton commented on the signing. “At just 20 years old, Dudinha already brings meaningful experience at both the professional and international levels”, said Ashton.
The young Brazilian player has the ability to play as a striker, winger, or attacking midfielder. With the recent departure of Maria Sanchez, Dudinha fills in her role precisely.
Jonas Eidevall has experimented with his starting Frontline all season, using a variation of players. Even giving plenty of playing time to very young players like Melanie Barcenas and Kimmi Ascanio.
Dudinha has the potential to be a consistent starter in Eidevall’s squad, but will need to compete for playing time.
