The San Diego Padres Select Logan Driscoll with Pick #73 in MLB Draft
The San Diego Padres selected Logan Driscoll with pick #73 in the 2019 MLB Draft.
The Padres have added a third piece to their system on Monday, as Logan Driscoll was selected by the team.
After adding C.J. Abrams and Joshua Mears to their organization, the Padres decided to take a catcher with their next selection.
The team is stacked with catching depth, but that never stopped A.J. Preller before when it comes to adding talent. The Padres tend to take the best athlete on the board, and they felt Driscoll was the man. He will increase the depth in a catching system that includes Austin Allen, Luis Torrens, Luis Campusano, and Blake Hunt.
Driscoll is 21 and was a junior at George Mason. He hit over .300 in each of the three years at the school. The left-handed hitter makes contact and has decent speed for a catcher. He receives the ball well and has a plus arm behind the plate. The 6-foot-1 catcher is considered pretty polished at the plate.
Here is some video on Driscoll.
The Padres pick again with selection#84 in the draft. Stay tuned.
