The San Diego Loyal has a stretch of six consecutive games in San Diego coming up, which starts with an exhibition match against Borussia Dortmund this Thursday, July 27, at Snapdragon Stadium.

Ahead of this big home stand, the Loyal have made some key roster moves, including a deal with Louisville City FC.

The deal with Louisville sent defender Kyle Adams to the Midwestern team, and San Diego now have forward Enoch Mushagalusa on loan. Kyle Adams also has a direct replacement, as the Loyal signed defender Michael Chilaka from Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Maccabi Tel Aviv is the most historic and successful club in Israel, as Chilaka is no stranger to pressure, having played for such an important team. The 23-year-old has a demanding physical presence, and it will be interesting to see if Nate Miller immediately incorporates him to the squad.

Kyle Adams was a fan favorite with the Loyal faithful, having been a consistent starter for the Southern California team for two seasons now. However, Enoch Mushagalusa will help strengthen an already potent San Diego attack that has scored 34 goals this season, which is second-best in the USL Championship Western Conference.

Mushagalusa was born in Congo but was raised in Denver and eventually played with the Colorado Rapids U-23 squad. The 23-year-old winger has played with the Rapids youth squad, Sporting Kansas City II, and most recently in the USL Championship with Louisville City.

Mushagalusa scored two goals and provided an assist in 15 games played for Louisville this season, playing as a winger. Evan Conway currently leads the Loyal with eight goals scored, and Adrien Perez and Ronaldo Damus have scored five goals each.

South African forward Tumi Moshobane has also been a key component of this San Diego attack, with three goals and a team-leading five assists on the year.

San Diego is coming off a massive 5-0 victory against Colorado Springs in what was an offensive explosion for Nate Miller’s team. Enoch Mushagalusa is not guaranteed a starting role for the Loyal immediately, but he can definitely fight for a starting role.

After the exhibition match against German giants Borussia Dortmund at Snapdragon Stadium, the San Diego Loyal will play Colorado Springs again, but this time at USD Stadium on Sunday, July 30. The five-game USL home stand starts with the Switchbacks and includes Orange County, Loudoun United, Memphis and ends with New Mexico United on Aug. 19.
