Padres Winter League Roundup: October 12
Peoria Stadium- Phoenix, Arizona
The Peoria Javelinas moved to 2-2 on the season after a loss against the Mesa Solar Sox on Friday by the score of 8-0.
The team could not get anything going offensively, as they only managed four hits while striking out 16 times on the day. The Mesa pitching staff was solid all game as five pitchers combined for the shutout win. John Schreiber and Darwinzon Hernandez went through nine straight hitters at one point, striking out each of them.
Mariners’ left-handed pitching prospect Anthony Misiewicz was roughed up a bit to start the game as he allowed four earned runs in 1.1 innings pitched. That was obviously the game for the Javelinas in the loss at the hands of the Solar Sox.
A few Padres were in action on the day — here is what they did.
A reminder that the Dominican Winter League opens tomorrow and there should be some more game results to add to this daily piece from EVT.
