Padres Winter League Report: December 8 (Gettys Three More Hits in ABL)
There were a few leagues that were off on Saturday, as bad weather in Venezuela canceled all games for the day. There were also no scheduled games in the Dominican Republic.
Even with those two leagues off, there were some men in action on the day.
Here is an update on the day’s events:
Australian Baseball League
Michael Gettys– (3-5) 3B, 2B, 2 Runs, RBI
The outfielder continues to hit well in Australia and is up to .339 for the season. The Bite was taking on the Geelong-Korea team.
Justin Lopez– (2-5) Run, 2 K
The infielder is hitting .256 on the year after going 2-for-5 on Saturday. He started at second base for the Cavalry.
Kelvin Melean– (2-4) K
Melean is also on the Cavalry with Lopez and is hitting .216 on the year in the ABL.
Jarryd Dale– (1-4) RBI, K
Dale broke out of his hitless slump and is now hitting .111 on the season in Australia.

Venezuelan winter league
All games rained out
Puerto Rican winter league
Aldemar Burgos– (0-3) RBI
The outfielder has cooled off after a hot start to his Puerto Rican winter league season. He is now hitting .271 on the year on the island.
Colby Blueberg– 2 IP, 1 H, BB, K
Blueberg has his ERA at 3.00 for the year after recording his fourth hold of the season on Saturday in Puerto Rico.
Mexican winter league
Esteban Quiroz- (0-2) 2 BB, K
Quiroz committed his third error of the year for the Caneros de los Mochis, He is hitting .154 on the year.
Dominican winter league
No games scheduled
